"The Principle" brings to light astonishing new scientific observations challenging the Copernican Principle; the foundational assumption underlying the modern scientific world view. The idea that the Earth occupies no special or favored position in the cosmos has launched the last two scientific revolutions - the Copernican Revolution and Relativity - and, as Lawrence Krauss has said, we could be on the verge of a third, with "Copernicus coming back to haunt us". Interviews with leading cosmologists are interspersed with the views of dissidents and mavericks, bringing into sharp focus the challenges and implications not only for cosmology, but for our cultural and religious view of reality.

TRIVIA

Trivia

Kate Mulgrew and others were unaware of the "geocentricism" being pushed by this documentary. She was a voice for hire, never told the full documentary purpose and her lines did not indicate the film's true purpose. Having found out later the controversy surrounding her participation, she has denied geocentricism and stated she never would have participated had she known that was the purpose or that Robert Sungenis was involved, another fact she was unaware of at the time.

The video the producers posted rebutting the charge that they misled the scientists and narrator of this movie actually confirms that they did indeed keep the participants in the dark as to the true purpose of the documentary. It shows that the contract signed by physicist Lawrence Krauss was carefully worded to avoid any mention of geocentrism, either directly or indirectly, merely stating that the documentary would cover various theories and controversies concerning cosmology. There are indeed plenty of scientific theories--mainstream and controversial--in the field of cosmology, and Professor Krauss has contributed his viewpoint to more than a few science documentaries covering them, but geocentrism isn't one of them. As the producers were no doubt banking on, Professor Krauss would not have even considered the possibility that this vague catch-all language in his contract masked their purpose of promoting the long debunked scientific claim of geocentrism. Watch the film to understand.

The producers defend themselves against these charges in an article on their website titled: A Concise Overview of the Media Hoax Against The Principle Documentary (posted under commentary). Please read this and modify as appropriate.
