TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The director Simon Wells is the great-grandson of H.G. Wells, who wrote the 1895 novel upon which the film is based.

A picture of H.G. Wells is visible in Alexander's house in several shots.

Guy Pearce did most of his own stunts, and occasionally got frustrated when he wasn't allowed to do a few.

Guy Pearce broke a rib during the filming when he tackled the Morlock from the side.

Guy Pearce was so consistent in most of his takes that the audio from one take could be put with the video from another and the combination of the two would fit perfectly.

Popular Dialogues

"Über-Morlock: We all have our time machines, don't we. Those that take us back are memories... And those that carry us forward, are dreams."

"Über-Morlock: You built your time machine because of Emma's death. If she had lived, it would never have existed. So how could you use your machine to go back in time and save her? You are the inescapable result of your tragedy, just as I am the inescapable result of you. You have your answer. Now go."
