Several scheduled locations were lost, hence why a lot of the film takes place in Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. Originally, Kevin and Jason left the store and dropped in on a certain donut chain, to discuss their plan of action. The store, which was heavily influenced by American products, went out of business, so a single line of dialogue was created to bridge the gap between scenes. Unfortunately, said scene was removed from the final film due to editing problems.
Executive producer Kevin Smith has commented on numerous occasion that he aspires to be as thin as the actor portraying him, Mark Frost. Mark lost 10 pounds over the course of the movie, rendering Smith's comment even more apt.
The first scene filmed was the opening scene where Kevin (Mark Frost) discovers Jason (Chris Bain) has been abusing heroin. Bain has commented that he was nursing a severe hangover during this scene which he claims assisted his performance.
