At the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, Kevin Hart went on record saying this film was his best work to date and is most representative of his work on-stage as a stand-up comedian.
On January 21st, 2015, Kevin Hart bought out two shows of The Wedding Ringer in a theater near Toledo, Ohio. He then urged his fans to "tell them Kevin Hart sent me." 500 patrons were then treated to a free showing of The Wedding Ringer.
This was originally set to be a starring vehicle for Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.
Early in the film when Doug (Josh Gad) falls through the desk he yells out, "I can't feel my **** legs!" In Frozen (2013), Olaf (also voiced by Gad) yells, "My legs! I can't feel my legs!".
When Josh Gad and Kevin Hart crashed the wedding, the best man (Josh Peck) yells out Wolverines. Peck played the title role in Red Dawn (2012) where he was the leader of group of teenage insurgents named after their football team called the Wolverines.
"Edmundo: You put the weed in the coconut, and light that shit up."
"[last lines] Lurch: I've got a bad feeling about this plane."
