However, if we look at what all of these supernatural dramas have in common, it is the love story between a human and a vampire. In the recent online series Tooth Pari: When Love Bites from Netflix, we now have an Indianized version of the vampire thriller. The Netflix drama features all the familiar characters and plot elements, including vampires, witches, humans, and covert operations. However, this programme is a success because of how director Pratim Dasgupta made this typical vampire-human love story special. With the attractive Rumi (Tanya Maniktala), who is meeting an unknown man in the club when Tooth Pari: When Love Bites begins in a hotel bar set in Kolkata, things quickly alter as we see Rumi's fangs poking out and meet the bloodthirsty dashing vampire. She soon phones Sreela, the hunting companion she's been training. The two leave after taking the victim's fresh blood, introducing us to the underground, away from sunshine and human existence, the realm of vampires.
