TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

When Tracy Wright was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2009, her friends and colleagues contributed time and money to rush Trigger into production in January-February 2010 so the film could be completed as a final tribute to Tracy.

Bruce McDonald asked Daniel MacIvor to write a My Dinner with Andre-style screenplay that would be a sequel to Hard Core Logo, with Hugh Dillon and Callum Keith Rennie playing the roles. However, scheduling (among other reasons) kept it from moving forward. After some discussion, McDonald and MacIvor decided to rewrite the screenplay for two women, with Molly Parker and Tracy Wright in mind. Rennie now has a cameo in the film.

Executive producers Callum Keith Rennie and Hugh Dillon were supposed to play the lead roles when this was initially envisioned as a sequel to Hard Core Logo (1996). The script was later rewritten as a reunion for two women musicians.

Sarah Polley's last film before she quit acting to focus more on directing.

Popular Dialogues

"Vic: This is love: I secretly believe that I'm unlovable, and then I meet you. You tell me that you love me. I love you because you love me, but that has nothing to do with you; it's about you loving me. I only love you because I imagine myself unlovable, and you, against all odds, love me. And then, and some point, you do something that makes me think that you don't love me, which I'm more ready to believe than you loving me because I'm unlovable, so I stop loving you; I only love you because you love me, and I'm unlovable. Kat: What about the other person? The person who loves you? Vic: It's the same thing. Everybody is doing the same thing. Everybody thinks they're unlovable, too. Kat: I'm not unlovable. I am all lovable. I am the very meaning of lovable."

"Kat: 'Tomorrow' was always just 'Yesterday' disguised as 'Today'. It's all 'Yesterday'."
