Vasantha Mullai is a Tamil action thriller that follows Rudhra, an IT professional who takes on a challenging project that leads to health issues. His girlfriend Nila suggests they take a vacation, and they enter Vasantha Mullai, an isolated bungalow, where they get caught up in a tricky situation with a killer on the loose. The film has an interesting storyline, but it unfortunately falls short in execution. The film borrows ideas from many Hollywood films and has a time loop concept, but the second half is poor, with unnecessary and complex twists. Despite this, one of the best parts of the movie is the realistic portrayal of Rudhra's fatigue and the toll it takes on him. However, the film takes a cliched approach when Nila suggests they go to a hill station, and the potential for a thrilling story with a local flavour is wasted. Overall, Vasantha Mullai had potential, but it fails to deliver on its promises.
