Bono was featured in Lian Lunson's 2005 documentary Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man (2005).
Bono wrote the song "Where The Shadows Fall" for Willie Nelson to sing on the movie's soundtrack. Bono and Nelson's pairing is a reunion decades in the making as Bono previously wrote the song "Slow Dancing" for Nelson in 1989.
The film was shot on Willie Nelson's private ranch in Spicewood, Texas.
Wim Wenders and Bono, who both served as executive producers on the film, have a long history of collaborations including on Wenders' film The Million Dollar Hotel (2000) which was based on a concept story by Bono. In addition, Wenders has directed several music videos for U2 including "The Ground Beneath Her Feet", "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)", and "Night And Day".
The film is titled after the Leonard Cohen song "Waiting For The Miracle."
