TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The segment "The Box" is the only one of the four segments that is not actually an original story by the women but is instead an adaptation of the Jack Ketchum story.

Danny Elfman's taxidermy cat Frisky makes a cameo in the segment "The Birthday Party" (when he is turned to be adjusted).

Directorial debut of musician and songwriter St. Vincent, who goes by her birth name Annie Clark for the film, and Jovanka Vuckovic.

The film was intended to be an experimental project to highlight female filmmakers working in the industry. According to an interview featuring all four of the filmmakers, Jovanka Vuckovic stated that this film was intended to give more opportunities to female directors, especially in the horror genre, due to the lack of female directors working in the film industry.

The title of the film, XX, is a reference to the chromosomes that determine the genetic make up for a woman, a reference to the female dominant crew behind the production of these short films.
