KRAFTON India has announced two major competitive BGMI tournaments for the second half of 2026: the BGMI International Cup and the BGMI Showdown. Together, they offer Rs 2 Crore in prize money. This marks one of the most ambitious esports schedules the game has seen in India so far.

BGMI International Cup: India vs Korea vs Japan in Mumbai
The BGMI International Cup returns for its second season. The Grand Finals will be held at the Dome, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai from October 30 to November 1, 2026. The format will feature 16 elite teams:
- 6 from India
- 5 from South Korea
- 5 from Japan
They will compete for a Rs 1 Crore prize pool over three days of live action.
The BMIC is the more internationally significant of the two tournaments. It pits India’s top BGMI teams against some of the strongest regional rivals from Asia. For Indian teams, this is one of the few chances on home soil to measure themselves against Korean and Japanese teams. They have historically set the standard for competitive BGMI in the region.
BGMI Showdown: an invite-only domestic championship
The BGMI Showdown takes a different approach. It is a closed, invite-only tournament with no open registrations. Forty-eight teams were selected based solely on their performance across the KIE Leaderboard, BGIS, and BMPS. The format ensures that every participant earned their spot through consistent results, not a single qualification run.
The tournament kicks off on September 22 and goes through multiple structured stages. The LAN Grand Finals will take place from October 16 to 18, carrying a Rs 1 Crore prize pool.

KRAFTON India is aiming to establish BGMI esports as a year-round competitive landscape instead of a series of standalone events. The H2 2026 calendar pairs an international event with an elite domestic championship, covering two distinct narratives simultaneously. The BMIC enhances India’s profile on the regional stage, while the BMSD creates a prestigious domestic ranking that rewards the country’s most consistent performers.
Indian esports is at a real turning point. Government recognition of esports as a sport, increasing broadcast audiences, and growing brand investment have created conditions for a more sustainable competitive ecosystem than we had even two years ago. KRAFTON India has been among the more active publishers in building this infrastructure through BGIS, BMPS, and now the international aspect of BMIC.
