According to HP, the HP 8 is 'big on performance, slim in style, and small on price.' The device arrives with a high quality display, marginally larger from regular 7-inchers, making it an apt gadget to play, watch and surf. A powerful configuration complements the display pretty well. A great tablet to go if a great camera is not your priority.

The HP 8 comes with a 7.85-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels, packed in a sturdy yet slick frame. Weighing just 313 grams, it runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Performance is taken care of by an Allwinner A31 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

The HP 8 comes with a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera for photography. It houses 16GB of on-board storage along with a microSD card slot for an optional upgrade. Other features include stereo speakers, accelerometer and gyro sensors.

Connectivity-wise, the HP 8 comes with Wi-Fi, micro-USB and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The 3,800 mAh Lithium polymer translates roughly into 7 hours of battery life.
