Verdict

The HP 840 G3 (W8H20PA) is a simple and lightweight laptop with good battery backup. It disappoints us not only in terms of dedicated GPU but also the storage, which may be insufficient. However, the laptop is light in weight, which makes it extremely portable and carrying it on long journeys are never a fuss.

Well designed for daily usage

Display and Configuration

The HP 840 G3 (W8H20PA) laptop features a 14-inch HD LED backlit display which outputs a screen resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. It comes in a nice silver coloured body which is very shiny and glossy. Acting as the brain of the system is a 2.3GHz Intel core i5-6200U processor aided by 4GB of DDR4 RAM and onboard Intel HD 520 graphics card. For better multitasking performance, the user can increase the RAM up to 8GB. The laptop weighs only 1.5Kg, measures 338 x 237 x 18.9mm and runs on Windows 7 Professional operating system.

Battery, Connectivity and Input Devices 

The laptop sips its juice from a 3 cell li-ion battery in order to keep the show running for long hours. On the networking ground, the HP 840 G3 (W8H20PA) features a wide range of options such as a Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, two USB 3.0 slots, an SD card reader, a headphone jack, a microphone jack and a VGA port. Input devices include a glass touchpad with multi touch gesture support, a spill-resistant keyboard with drain and dura Keys and a fingerprint scanner.

Camera and Storage

Like other laptops, the HP 840 G3 (W8H20PA) also has an integrated webcam and inbuilt microphone. The user can record videos and share it with his favorite ones or post on social networking sites. One can also enjoy video calling as SKYPE or click images as per the desire. The user can create a library of files in a 256GB solid state drive.
