For the first time in India, a benchmark report this detailed, this expansive, for both gaming and non-gaming laptops has been compiled. We at 91mobiles have tested 100+ laptops using objective synthetic benchmarks to determine the best gaming and non-gaming laptops across price ranges, making this the only report in the country to highlight the best from the rest using a scientific approach. While our best performing laptop is based on pure performance, the overall value and runner up were determined keeping in mind real-world use cases as well.
Here’s everything the report delivers, who it’s meant for, and how it can help.
Table of Contents

Our Testing Process
To ensure fairness and consistency across all devices, we relied on both synthetic and real-world benchmarks. Here’s a breakdown of what we used.
- PCMark 10 (Overall, Extended & Battery): Simulates day-to-day tasks such as web browsing, video calls, and document editing as well as the battery life of the laptop.
- Cinebench R23 (Multi & Single Core): Evaluates raw CPU performance across productivity and creative workflows.
- 3DMark (Time Spy & Fire Strike): Gauges GPU capabilities for DirectX 12 and DirectX 11 tasks, respectively.
- CrystalDiskMark (Sequential Read/Write): Measures the read and write capability of the laptop storage.
- GeekBench 6: Measures the CPU & GPU capability of the laptops.
Gaming Benchmarks
A healthy mix of games to ensure we cover all popular genres and technologies, including racing, e-sports, action/adventure, FPS and testing capabilities like ray-tracing, frame generation, latency and more. Games tested are as follows:
- Cyberpunk 2077 (RT Ultra, DLSS FG ON): Tests GPU strength, ray tracing, and frame generation under demanding AAA workloads.
- Forza Horizon 5 (Extreme Preset, Ray Tracing High): Stresses CPU+GPU with fast-paced visuals and real-time ray tracing in a racing environment.
- Valorant (High Settings, NVIDIA Reflex ON+Boost): Evaluates CPU performance, input latency, and system responsiveness in competitive gaming.
- GTA V (High, AF x8, Soft Shadows): Used on non-gaming laptops to gauge casual gaming performance on older titles.
Each laptop was tested at native resolution with V-Sync off to reflect raw performance.
Who This Report Is For
This report is for:
- A brand interested in how your laptops stack up against the competition
- A gamer hunting for high FPS under a budget
- A creator seeking powerful CPU/GPU combos with colour-accurate displays
- A professional who needs a reliable, balanced performance
Most importantly, this report is for you! You could be any of the above or simply an enthusiast. We aim to cover the largest audience possible, helping consumers make the right decision when they purchase a laptop, and brands looking to peg the competition or see where they stand in the sea of laptops available today.
The key is that this report is designed to help make smarter, data-backed decisions.
Some Learnings About Our Testing
While our final learnings about each laptop and the category are in the report, the following learnings are more to do with our testing process:
- Since a large bulk of the laptops in this list are not “marketed” as AI (come with a dedicated NPU), we will include our AI benchmark in the next version of this report, which will be released in December 2025. We should have tested a large number of AI laptops by then.
- For gaming, we ran the games at the laptop’s native resolution to push the device to its capabilities. However, going forward, we will stick to a standard resolution to run the game (possibly 1080p), to give the hardware powering each laptop to truly shine based on its potential.
Final Thoughts
This is one of the most comprehensive independent laptop benchmarking efforts focused on the Indian market, and we’ll be updating this database periodically with newer launches. As always, we aim to keep our testing transparent, our picks practical, and our insights grounded in real usage.
