Ai+ has launched three new smartphones in India— the Nova 2, Nova 2 Ultra, and Nova Flip. Among the three, the Ai+ Nova 2 and Nova 2 Ultra are budget smartphones priced under Rs 15,000. The Ai+ Nova Flip is the brand’s first foldable in a clamshell design. It might also be the most affordable flip-style foldable in India, priced at Rs 29,999. All three phones will be available on Flipkart and select retail outlets soon.

Ai+ Nova 2, Nova 2 Ultra specifications

Ai+ Nova 2

Starting with the Ai+ Nova 2, it’s the most affordable in the lineup, priced at Rs 8,999. The smartphone has a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a notch design, which is understandable for its price segment. It comes in two variants: 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. The handset is powered by a 6nm Unisoc T8200 chipset. The Ai+ Nova 2 comes with a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front sensor.

It gets a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. You also get 5G connectivity, an IP64 rating, and a side fingerprint sensor. On the software front, the Ai+ Nova 2 runs Android 16-based NxtQ OS out of the box, which is the brand’s privacy-first custom OS with a clean interface.

The smartphone comes in Purple, Green, Pink, Blue, and Black colours, and will be available on April 14th, 12 noon onwards via Flipkart and select retail outlets. Given the price and specs, the Ai+ Nova 2 offers a competitive set of specifications, making the phone ideal for new smartphone users or anyone upgrading from an older 4G phone.

Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra

The Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra is the more premium option in the series, so to speak. It offers superior specs to the Nova 2 and is more expensive too, at Rs 14,999. The smartphone has a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 2,500 nits peak brightness. The display has a punch-hole selfie camera. These display specs are quite impressive for its price, as it’s something we see in premium phones. Under the hood of the phone runs the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC, which should deliver good performance for regular to moderate usage.

The smartphone has a 50MP Sony IMX752 (OIS) primary camera and an 8MP wide-angle camera, accompanied by a 13MP front camera. You get the same 6,000mAh battery but with faster 33W charging support. The Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra gets some gaming features, including dedicated gaming triggers, vapour chamber cooling, and NxtHalo dynamic lighting that responds to calls and messages.

The handset comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It is available in Blue, Green, Purple, Black, and Red colours, and will go on sale from April 17th, 12 noon onwards. The Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra seems like a good option for anyone looking for a performance-focused or gaming phone under a budget.

Ai+ Nova Flip specifications

The Ai+ Nova Flip has a clamshell design, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Motorola Razr 60. It has a 3.1-inch AMOLED cover display and a 6.9-inch AMOLED inner display. The device, when folded, measures 7.2mm and weighs 193g, so it should be comfortable to hold and use. The foldable phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X SoC, a 4nm chipset designed for mid-range phones and flip-style foldables.

For optics, you get a 50MP primary camera with 10x digital zoom and a 2MP depth sensor. There’s a 32MP front camera for selfies as well. The smartphone also packs a 4,325mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The battery capacity might seem modest, but it’s what you usually get with flip-style foldables. There’s a side fingerprint sensor on the Ai+ Nova Flip, and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Ai+ Nova Flip comes in a single Glacier White (Pantone Cloud Dancer) colour for Rs 29,999. However, the phone will be available later in May. We’re yet to test the device, so we can’t say for sure how it performs in real-world scenarios. But the competitive pricing and specs do make it a compelling option for anyone who wants a flip-style foldable.
