Airtel is adding another option for prepaid users who spend as much time watching YouTube as they do streaming movies and shows. The telecom operator has introduced a Rs 200 entertainment top-up that combines YouTube Premium with 30GB of data and access to more than 20 OTT platforms for 28 days.
The new pack follows Airtel’s recent Rs 48 recharge pack launch, which offers a month of JioHotstar access. The latest offering takes a broader approach by bundling YouTube’s paid subscription with several streaming services in one recharge, although it doesn’t replace a regular prepaid plan.
Airtel Rs 200 top-up pack benefits
The Rs 200 pack comes with 30GB of high-speed data and a 28-day validity. Its main draw is YouTube Premium, which removes ads from videos and enables background playback and offline downloads. Subscribers also get access to YouTube Music Premium. The OTT bundle includes Prime Video, JioHotstar, Zee5 Premium and SonyLIV, along with more than 18 other streaming platforms. This could make the pack useful for users who switch between YouTube and multiple streaming apps rather than paying for each service separately.
There’s one important catch, though. The Rs 200 recharge is an entertainment add-on, not a standalone prepaid plan. It doesn’t include calling or SMS benefits, so users must maintain an active Airtel prepaid base plan to use it.
After recharging, users need to claim YouTube Premium manually through the Airtel Thanks app or Airtel’s prepaid plans website. They can head to the Rewards & OTTs section, find YouTube Premium and tap the claim option. The subscription lasts for the pack’s 28-day validity. Users will need to recharge again and claim the benefit to continue using it.
Is Airtel’s Rs 200 pack worth it?
YouTube Premium’s individual plan costs around Rs 149 per month in India. At Rs 200, Airtel’s pack costs only Rs 51 more while adding 30GB of data and access to multiple OTT platforms. That makes it worth considering for existing YouTube Premium subscribers who can also use the bundled services.
However, the value depends on which platforms users actually watch and whether their existing prepaid plan already provides enough data. Those who primarily want YouTube Premium could find a direct subscription simpler, while Flipkart Black members can also get a year of YouTube Premium at no additional cost as part of their membership. For Airtel users who regularly watch videos and stream content across services, the new top-up offers a convenient bundle. Those who only need mobile data or already pay for the included OTT subscriptions may get less out of it.
