The ASUS ROG Phone 9 lineup is rumoured to get a new ‘FE’ model this year. Similar to Samsung’s FE (Fan Edition), this one is also expected to launch as an affordable variant to the flagship lineup. ASUS has yet to make any official announcement but the phone has already received multiple certifications. 91mobiles has now received ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE specifications and design courtesy of industry sources. ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE specifications
- Display: The ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE will feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ (2400×1080 pixels) Samsung Flexible AMOLED LTPO display with a maximum of 165Hz refresh rate, which can reach 185Hz in Game Genie. It has 2,500nits peak brightness, 1,600nits High Brightness Mode (HBM), and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. You’re getting the same display as the ROG Phone 9 and Pro.
- Processor: The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with Adreno 730 GPU, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage.
- Cameras: The ROG Phone 9 FE will house a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, you get a 32MP front camera. This one’s missing a telephoto camera, which is present on the ROG Phone 9 lineup.
- Battery, charging: The new gaming phone will pack a 5,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support and wireless charging as well. In comparison, the ROG Phone 9 and Pro have a 5,800mAh battery and 65W fast charging.
- Software: It will run Android 15 with ROG UI out of the box.
- Other features: The ROG Phone 9 FE will come with dual stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE design
The ROG Phone 9 FE looks similar to the flagship lineup with the same camera module and ROG logo at the back. The smartphone will be available in ‘Phantom Black’ colour at least. Like the flagship lineup, this FE model also comes with AirTrigger controls aimed to give a console-like gaming experience. The phone weighs 225g and measures 163.8×76.8×8.9 mm, which makes it slightly lighter than the ROG Phone 9. It also comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance like the flagship lineup.
