Boat has expanded its portable audio lineup in India with the launch of the Stone 900, a new Bluetooth speaker aimed at users looking for powerful sound for parties, travel and outdoor use. The new speaker delivers 80W audio output, features dynamic RGB lighting and offers up to 15 hours of playback on a single charge.
Boat Stone 900: specifications and features
The Boat Stone 900 is equipped with dual drivers and dedicated tweeters that deliver 80W Boat Signature Sound. The company says the setup is designed to offer a balanced audio experience for music, movies and gatherings. To enhance the party experience, the speaker includes dynamic RGB lighting that syncs with the music, which has become a common feature in portable speakers.
The speaker is rated IPX5 for splash and sweat resistance, making it suitable for use near swimming pools, during workouts or while travelling. However, the rating does not make it fully waterproof, so users should avoid submerging it in water. On the connectivity front, the Stone 900 supports Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless pairing and also includes AUX and USB playback, giving users more flexibility to connect smartphones, laptops or play music directly from a USB drive.
Boat claims the speaker can deliver up to 15 hours of playback, although actual battery life is likely to vary depending on volume levels, lighting effects and playback source.
Price, availability and should you buy it?
The Boat Stone 900 is priced at Rs 5,999, but it will be available at a special Amazon Prime Day price of Rs 4,999. Buyers can choose between Graphite Black and Jungle Terrain colour options. The speaker is available from July 2nd via the official Boat website, Amazon India and Flipkart.
At its introductory price, the Stone 900 competes with portable Bluetooth speakers from brands like JBL, Mivi and Portronics that offer similar features, including water resistance and long battery life. Its biggest selling point is the 80W output, which is relatively uncommon at this price point and could appeal to users who prioritise loud sound for house parties or outdoor gatherings. If your primary requirement is a compact speaker with high audio output and multiple connectivity options, the Stone 900 looks like a strong value proposition.
Brands are now offering higher wattage and premium features at increasingly affordable prices. As competition intensifies, companies like Boat are also focusing on rugged designs and outdoor-friendly features to stand out in a crowded segment, although support for features like multi-speaker pairing is becoming an important differentiator for many buyers.
