[Exclusive] Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro camera features revealed through promo video

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro camera specifications and features have been revealed ahead of the launch event on October 4th.

Highlights

Update (August 2025): Looking back nearly two years after launch, most of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro camera leaks did turn out to be accurate. Both phones shipped with the promised 50MP primary sensor along with Real Tone, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and Super Res Zoom. The Pro-exclusive Pro controls and Video Boost also made it to the final release, though Google later refined them with software updates. The Magic Editor with face-swap capability was indeed part of Google Photos, though its rollout was phased and limited at first. On the hardware side, the Pixel 8 Pro’s telephoto lens and upgraded ultrawide performed as expected, while the regular Pixel 8 stayed limited to a dual-camera setup. Over time, software updates have further improved video recording and skin-tone accuracy, validating that Google’s original promo leaks were a strong preview of what buyers actually got.

The trend of Pixel phones being leaked (either unofficially or by Google themselves) well ahead of launch continues. The company also announced that the phones will go up for pre-orders in India a day later on October 5th. Now, a newly leaked promo video graciously provided to 91mobiles by tipster Kamila Wojciechowska reveals the camera features of the upcoming Pixel phones.
