Here are top reasons why you need to go for Redmi Note 12 4G over any entry-level 5G phone

The much-awaited “SuperNote” Redmi Note 12 4G has launched in India and the phone is already proving to be a popular choice among customers. While the handset comes with a 4G LTE network, it still has a lot going for it. 5G is still very new in India and the roll-out is happening gradually. While it’s always exciting to get your hands on the latest technology in the market, there are some caveats as well.

At this juncture, it doesn’t make much sense to invest a whole lot into buying a compromised 5G experience considering the slow-paced adoption across India and how widely 4G network is still available. As most people’s daily requirements would easily be met by 4G speeds, buying a 4G smartphone makes much more sense. If you want to invest in a solid mid-range smartphone, why settle for a sub-standard 5G phone that misses out on many major features just for the sake of having a 5G tag? We have previously listed some crucial reasons why you should not switch over to a 5G phone just yet. These reasons included limited 5G availability at the moment, 5G speeds not being up to the promised levels due to dependency on proximity to 5G towers, and 5G network being a data guzzler. Well, if you are wondering what could be the solution, you will have to go for an all-rounder 4G phone. If you are dreading the thought of doing extensive research to find this phone, don’t worry, we are here to help. The brand new Redmi Note 12 4G is a great choice that stands tall among a range of sub-standard 5G phones which don’t really offer similar value for the money.

Here’s why we believe buying the Redmi Note 12 4G over any other mediocre 5G phone is a smart choice.

4G LTE is still the most relevant network in India

While the 5G rollout has begun and is expanding to most tier 1 and 2 cities gradually, 4G LTE still is the most prevalent network in the country, thanks to the large user base. A large section of smartphone users in India still rely on 4G LTE connectivity for their daily needs as 5G is not available everywhere in the country just yet and mass adoption will take some time. For instance, there are reports on social media that the 5G signal is disappearing from one to another in a single house.

Until 5G towers are installed at every nook and corner in the country, 4G remains the most relevant network as the availability is more widespread and most towns and villages too have the network support.

Caveats with 5G at the moment

5G is the latest tech in India but it still has a long way to go. While 5G is faster in comparison to 4G, the reliable consistency in speeds across most cities is still only provided by the latter. On top of this, the data consumption on 5G is quicker compared to 4G. This means that your daily data will be consumed faster than before. Notably, if you are on a 5G network, the battery life on your phone would drain much faster in comparison to when you are on 4G. Considering how most of us hate being tethered to the walls due to chargers, this could be a key factor for you while making the choice for the 4G smartphone.

Choosing Redmi Note 12 4G is a smart choice

The Redmi Note 12 4G is the latest Note 12 series model to launch in India and is easily the smart and stylish choice. Most 5G phones in the market right now are charging a premium price just because these handsets are offering 5G support. As a trade-off, you get inferior specs to some of the 4G phones in the similar price segment. Considering that you might not even be able to enjoy 5G speeds, depending on the proximity to 5G tower and its availability in your area, settling for inferior specs is simply not a smart choice.

If we talk about which 4G phone would be the ideal choice to go for instead of an entry-level 5G phone, let’s go over specs one by one to figure out. The latest Snapdragon 685 is a chipset to beat in this price range. Redmi Note 12 4G is the first handset in the world to feature this incredible SoC. The performance will be top class with no lags or stutters whatsoever. Unlike 5G smartphones, where you have to settle for entry-level chipsets that support the tech, here you get a chipset that is sufficient to handle your most daily tasks, including social media requirements, editing pics, taking calls and much more. The Redmi Note 12 4G runs on the latest Android 13 OS out of the box so you will not be missing out on any of Android’s goodness.

Moving on to cameras, Redmi Note 12 4G comes with a whopping 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera to allow users to click detailed and versatile shots. With its 13MP front camera, you will be able to click some social media worthy selfies too.

The design of the phone is also pretty impressive, thanks to a super sleek profile with nature hues to flaunt, a boxy frame with narrow bezels so that media consumption and gaming are a delight with no interruption and an attractive rear camera module design that elevates the overall design of the phone. At just 186g in weight, the handset is extremely light and can be held easily for one-hand usage too.

This is what makes the Note 12 4G a better choice when compared to the inferior 5G phones that offer a dull IPS LCD screen, mediocre performance, and low-capacity battery cells. In comparison, Redmi Note 12 4G comes with an immersive 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a high 120Hz refresh rate that would delight users who like to watch videos on the move or indulge in gaming. As the phone features a massive 5000mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support, you will be able to enjoy your gaming sessions for a long while too.

Another crucial aspect when it comes to gaming is RAM, with expandable virtual RAM up to 11GB, the handset makes sure you are never short on memory again.

4G isn’t going anywhere

As we have established from the points above, if you have to make a smartphone choice in the current market, it doesn’t get better than Redmi Note 12 4G. The handset offers impressive features in every department and unlike 5G offerings at this price point, it doesn’t cut corners to fit into this price segment. While eventually, 5G could take over a larger market, due to its gradual expansion and concerns over its consistency in delivering high speeds, right now you can easily choose to skip buying a 5G smartphone.

As the Redmi Note 12 4G has been priced below Rs 15,000 and still manages to offer such impressive specs, our advice would be to grab this phone as soon as possible. Whether its cameras, display, battery life, or even design, this phone comes out on top in comparison to entry-level 5G phones with ease.
