HMD Vibe 2 5G India launch details

HMD Vibe 2 5G is scheduled to launch in India on May 21st. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart. There’s a dedicated page on Flipkart, revealing the HMD Vibe 2 5G’s design and key features. HMD Vibe 2 4G is also rumoured to launch soon, but there’s no official confirmation on the same, yet.

HMD Vibe 2 5G: what to expect

According to the teaser page on Flipkart, the HMD Vibe 2 5G features flat edges with a large camera island on the back. It’s a rectangular panel, a design that seems to be quite popular with Android phones these days. The smartphone is confirmed to launch in a Cosmic Lavender colour, and more options are expected to be available.

HMD has also confirmed a 6,000mAh battery for the Vibe 2 5G. This would be a significant upgrade over the HMD Vibe 5G’s 5,000mAh battery. With this battery capacity, the phone should comfortably last the entire day. The smartphone is also confirmed to feature a 50MP AI camera. With a strong primary sensor and AI features for photography, the HMD Vibe 2 5G might have an edge over rivals.

As for the 4G model, leaks suggest it could feature a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Unisoc T7200 chipset, 4GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. The phone is also tipped to support microSD expansion, which is becoming increasingly rare even in the budget segment. Camera hardware on the 4G model is said to include a 50MP primary sensor paired with a secondary 2MP lens, while selfies may be handled by a 5MP front camera. A 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support is also expected. The handset could launch in Titanium Black and Titanium Light shades.

The Vibe 2 series will likely compete with phones from Redmi, Motorola, and Realme in the budget segment. However, HMD’s challenge will be standing out in a crowded market where rivals often offer faster charging, better cameras, or more powerful chipsets at aggressive prices. The HMD Vibe 2 5G could be worth considering if priced competitively and undercuts rivals meaningfully, spec-focused users may still find stronger hardware elsewhere in the segment. If you’re currently using a 4G phone and are looking for an affordable 5G upgrade with strong battery life, the Vibe 2 5G could be a strong contender.
