Indian Gadget Awards – Best Wearable of 2023 winner: CMF Watch Pro and Apple Watch Series 9

Among the myriad wearables launched this year, a select few captured our hearts in both mainstream and premium categories. The time has come to crown the Best Wearable of 2023 from this distinguished lineup. Our esteemed panel, comprising 35+ jury members who have diligently adjudicated over 35 other categories with 200+ nominations at the Indian Gadget Awards 2023, has cast their votes. Without further ado, let’s unveil the winners.

Best Wearable of 2023 (Mainstream) winner

Winner: CMF Watch Pro

The CMF Watch Pro is the debut smartwatch from CMF, a newly founded sub-brand led by Carl Pei under the umbrella of Nothing. The wearable gets a few things going for it, including the build quality, gorgeous AMOLED display and built-in GPS. Coming to the specifications, the CMF Watch Pro packs a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with 410×502 resolution and 600+ nits peak brightness.

The wearable has a claimed battery life of 13 days and is IP68 water and dust resistance certified. Additionally, it supports AI-powered call capability and 24-hour health monitoring for heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep and stress. The watch also provides hydration and movement reminders, and personalised goals.

Winner: Apple Watch Series 9

Even with a minute of improvements over its predecessor, the Apple Watch Series 9 manages to impress with its real-world performance. The wearable offers a complete smartwatch experience combined with a bigger display and faster chipset. The experience is further elevated with the addition of double-tap gesture-based features, which enhance the overall interaction with the Watch Series 9. When it comes to specifications, the Apple Watch Series 9 is available in two dial sizes: 41mm and 45mm, each featuring an AMOLED screen with an impressive peak brightness of 2000 nits.

The wearable is powered by the power-efficient S9 chipset, based on the A15 Bionic architecture, and is equipped with a new heart rate sensor. It also supports double-tap gestures for actions such as accepting/ending calls, scrolling through widgets, snoozing alarms, and more—all by tapping your index finger on your thumb twice. The watch is water-resistant up to 50m, runs on WatchOS 10 to handle the software side of things, and is promised to provide up to 18 hours of battery life between charges.
