Infinix has confirmed that the Note Edge 5G will launch in India on February 18th at 12 noon, with sales set to take place via Flipkart. While pricing will be announced at the event, the phone has already debuted in select global markets at a starting price of USD 200 (around Rs 18,000), giving a rough indication of where it could land in India.
The Note Edge 5G seems to have a clear focus on design. Infinix says the phone measures just 7.2mm thick, which it calls the slimmest in its segment. That is notable at a time when many lower mid-range devices are getting thicker to house larger batteries. The phone also carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
At first glance, the design of the phone could feel familiar. The raised camera module, lens placement and overall rear layout closely resemble recent iPhone 17 Pro models. Early teasers even showcased an orange finish that looked similar to Apple’s bright orange colour option, though that shade is not part of the final lineup. It signals how Infinix wants the Note Edge to be perceived — as something that looks more premium than the bracket it falls in.
The branding also backs that perception. The “Edge” name highlights the phone’s 6.78-inch 1.5K 3D-curved AMOLED display with up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Audio is another area the company is pushing. The Note Edge 5G features JBL-tuned dual stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio support. Dual speakers are increasingly standard in the mid-range segment, but the JBL branding adds a layer of differentiation in a crowded market that includes offerings from Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme and iQOO.
Battery capacity stands at 6,500mAh with 45W fast charging. While larger batteries are becoming common, fitting one into a 7.2mm chassis is a detail Infinix is emphasising. The company also claims a six-year endurance rating, suggesting long-term battery health optimisation.
The Note Edge runs XOS 16 based on Android 16, marking a first for Infinix. By the looks of it, the interface takes cues from Apple’s iOS 26 “Liquid Glass” style, with translucent panels, frosted layers and softer visual effects across the system. For users who like the look of iOS but prefer Android’s flexibility, this design approach may be appealing.
XOS 16 also brings AI-driven features such as AI-generated wallpapers, document and YouTube summaries, writing tools and a customisable one-tap AI button that can be mapped to over 30 apps. There is also an RGB-style Active Halo Light on the back for notifications and charging alerts.
The Note Edge 5G appears to be targeting buyers who want a premium-looking phone with a curved AMOLED display and strong battery life without paying flagship prices. The final value will depend heavily on India pricing and how it stacks up against similarly priced alternatives once performance and camera results are tested.
