We’ve been hearing leaks about the iPhone 18 Pro series since the last few months now, and now, as the countdown to the September 9th launch day ends, we have new information. Well, not entirely new, since we’ve heard parts of that one before, but the latest leak once again points to three colours for Apple’s upcoming Pro iPhones.
The leak comes just days before Apple’s “Surprise and shine” event, with new CEO John Ternus teasing a “phenomenal launch” next week.
iPhone 18 Pro expected colours
According to tipster Fixed Focus Digital, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be available in Dark Cherry/Burgundy, Sky Blue and Black. If true, Apple would be replacing all three colour options from the iPhone 17 Pro series. The current iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are available in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue and Silver. Cosmic Orange was the standout colour, while Deep Blue and Silver offered more conventional alternatives.
The new Dark Cherry/Burgundy finish is expected to take over the hero-colour role this year. Black would give Apple a familiar option, while Sky Blue would bring a much lighter shade to the Pro lineup. The latest claim also goes against an earlier rumour that suggested Silver could return. At this stage, the colours remain unconfirmed until Apple officially reveals the phones.
Cosmic Orange had become quite the trendsetter after Apple launched the iPhone 17 Pro, with brands like Honor, Redmi and others taking out their own versions of it not just for flagships, but even in the mid-range. Ever since Dark Cherry leaked, we’ve already started seeing the colour appear in China, and we can expect more launches to come.
Apple’s September 9th event invitation could have offered an early clue about the new colour. The artwork shows a glowing Apple logo against a light blue background. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that the blue shade could be a hint at the Sky Blue finish, while the glowing effect may point towards a possible mechanical aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Meanwhile, John Ternus, who took over as Apple’s CEO on September 1st after 15 years of Tim Cook at the helm, has added to the buildup with his first message to employees. He described the company’s upcoming launch as “phenomenal” and said Apple has a “huge launch” next week., without explicitly naming anything.
The event is expected to bring more than the new Pro models. Apple is also tipped to unveil its first foldable iPhone, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra. The standard iPhone 18 is expected to have a delayed launch in 2027 as Apple reportedly changes the release schedule for the series.
For anyone considering an iPhone 17 Pro right now, waiting a few days should make more sense. The iPhone 18 Pro models are tipped to get a modest price increase, so the final pricing will be important alongside the new colours. Dark Cherry could be the most distinctive choice, while Black should appeal to those looking for something less likely to date quickly.
