Ahead of its official launch in China next week, iQOO has begun teasing the display features of the upcoming iQOO 15 Ultra. This will be the first time iQOO introduces an ‘Ultra’ model in its flagship lineup, signalling a move toward a more premium, no-compromise device aimed squarely at power users and mobile gamers.
The iQOO 15 Ultra is confirmed to feature a 2K Samsung Everest OLED panel built using the latest M14 luminescent material. With a pixel density of 508 ppi, the display is designed to deliver sharper visuals than standard FHD+ panels found in performance-focused flagships. Brightness is another highlight, with the screen capable of reaching up to a whopping 8,000 nits in certain areas and up to 2,600 nits across the full display.
The panel is an 8T LTPO unit with a refresh rate up to 144Hz, allowing it to dynamically adjust based on on-screen content. According to iQOO, this new display consumes 44 percent less power than the one used on the iQOO 13, addressing a common drawback of high-resolution, high-refresh-rate screens. This improvement could translate into better real-world battery efficiency, especially during everyday use when the display does not need to run at peak refresh rates.
Gaming is set to be a key focus for the iQOO 15 Ultra. The company claims it is the industry’s first smartphone to support 144fps ultra-high-definition graphics in Honor of Kings, one of China’s most popular and technically demanding mobile games. With the device currently confirmed only for the Chinese market, this capability alone positions it as a highly attractive option for local gamers. If the phone is launched globally, similar high-frame-rate support is likely to be extended to popular international titles as well, potentially making the iQOO 15 Ultra a strong contender in the premium gaming smartphone segment.
The display also supports Dolby Vision and covers 118 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, pointing to a strong emphasis on both entertainment and visual accuracy. It also includes 2160Hz PWM dimming alongside DC dimming and full-brightness DC dimming, which should help in reducing flicker and eye strain during prolonged use. The iQOO 15 Ultra is also getting a range of software-based modes such as motion sickness visual aid, bionic brightness adjustment, personalised brightness, sleep screen, AI sleep mode, elder colour mode, and anti-fatigue brightness adjustment.
The iQOO 15 Ultra is getting everything right with its display, not just content viewing but eye protection as well. Let’s face it, not just gamers but regular users will end up with hours of screen time.
In addition to the display features, the iQOO 15 Ultra is also confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with iQOO’s Q3 gaming chip. The smartphone is also claimed to have scored over 4.5 million on AnTuTu, one of the highest scores for a flagship. More gaming features include pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers with a 600Hz sampling rate, dual symmetrical speakers, a large vibration motor, and an active cooling fan.
The iQOO 15 Ultra is confirmed to launch in China on February 5th. Here, the phone is clearly shaping up to be a compelling option for users who prioritise display quality and performance, particularly gamers who want high frame rates and eye comfort features in a flagship form factor. Power users who consume a lot of HDR content or use their phones extensively outdoors may also benefit from the brightness and efficiency gains.
However, those who value compact size or prioritise battery longevity over peak performance may find standard flagship models more suitable. With the introduction of the iQOO 15 Ultra, the company appears to be redefining its flagship strategy. iQOO is now stepping into the ultra-premium segment with a product designed to appeal to demanding users and competitive gamers alike. The final verdict will depend on pricing and overall hardware balance, so it’s best to wait for the phone to go official and for real-world usage scenarios.
