Following price revisions to several of its midrange smartphones in the Galaxy M and Galaxy F lineups, Samsung has raised prices on its latest Galaxy A smartphones. With the prices already live on Samsung’s website, the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 are now up to Rs 5,000 more expensive than their launch price. While this is just the initial price increase, more hikes could be around the corner for these smartphones.

With the memory crisis continuing to be an alarming issue, it was evident that Samsung would also raise the prices of its midrange smartphones; it was just a matter of when. In the past, most smartphones above Rs 40,000 from brands such as OPPO, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme, and others have seen price hikes. The Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57 are the latest additions to the list.
Are the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 still worth considering?
Samsung Galaxy A37
The base variant of the Samsung Galaxy A37 remains under Rs 45,000 while still delivering several perks that set it apart from others in its price segment. These include the promise of six OS upgrades and six years of security patch updates, the highly customisable and feature-rich One UI, and a strengthened build featuring Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and rear.
While the Exynos 1480 running on the Galaxy A37 may not offer high-end performance, as with the Redmi Turbo 5 with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, it will suffice for daily use, as noted in our review. The 5,000mAh battery is tuned to deliver 8 to 9 hours of screen on time, while the 50MP primary camera produces decent-looking, crisp shots in daylight. Overall, the Galaxy A37 still makes sense for users who need polished software, long-term support, and reliable daily performance.
Samsung Galaxy A57
Now starting at Rs 59,999, the Galaxy A57 faces competition from the OnePlus 15R and Motorola Edge 70 Max, both of which carry the superior Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. While the Exynos 1680 powering the Galaxy A57 is suitable for daily tasks and multitasking, power users may lean towards OnePlus and Motorola to enjoy the best possible gaming experience.
On the other hand, just like the Galaxy A37, the Galaxy A57 will offer six OS upgrades, with only the Motorola Signature coming close by offering seven OS promise. One UI remains the phone’s highlight over OxygenOS and Hello UI, especially for users seeking something distinct in UI design. If you’re on the hunt for the best possible performance under Rs 60,000, there are better choices. However, users with basic needs who prioritise Samsung’s software and ecosystem may still consider the Galaxy A57.
