iQOO has started teasing its next smartphone for India, and it looks like the brand is getting ready to add another performance-focused device to its 15 series. After launching the iQOO 15 last year, the company has now confirmed that the iQOO 15R is coming soon.
The teaser, shared by iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya, features the tagline “Power that fits just right” and gives a glimpse of the phone’s rear design. It shows a checkered pattern, a metal frame, and a dual-camera setup. The look seem familiar, closely resembling the iQOO Z11 Turbo, which launched in China a couple of days ago. If the two models are indeed related, as reports have suggested in the past, we already have a good idea of what to expect from the 15R when it arrives in India.
Based on leaks and the iQOO Z11 Turbo, the iQOO 15R is expected to come with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display offering 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which puts it in near-flagship territory in terms of performance. On the camera front, the phone is tipped to feature a 200MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera, suggesting iQOO is focusing on high-resolution photography rather than just performance.
Battery performance looks to be another major highlight with the iQOO 15R rumoured to pack a 7,600mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. That’s one of the larger battery capacities, even by current silicon-carbon standards. It’s also said to offer IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a feature usually seen on more expensive phones.
The iQOO 15R also made its appearance in certification databases recently. A recent Bluetooth SIG listing confirmed the phone’s name early this month, and interestingly, the same model number had earlier appeared on the IMEI database under the name iQOO Neo 11. iQOO may have switched its branding late in development, but that’s speculation.
If the iQOO 15R indeed launches with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, it will go up against phones like the OnePlus 15R and Motorola Signature, which use the same chip. If you’re planning an upgrade, the iQOO 15R could make sense if your priorities are speed, battery life, and fast charging. The expected Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and a large battery should translate into smooth performance and fewer charging worries day to day. On the other hand, if camera consistency, cleaner software, or longer update support matter more to you, options from OnePlus or Motorola may still feel more appealing. If iQOO keeps the 15R closer to upper mid-range pricing, it could be strong value. If it creeps too close to full flagship prices, you may be better off choosing a more balanced phone with fewer headline specs but a more rounded everyday experience.
The iQOO 15R is expected to debut in India sometime in February and will be sold via Amazon and the iQOO India online store. The company will reveal the exact launch date in the coming weeks.
