Table of Contents
LG sees higher interest from prospective TV buyers

- Samsung leads current TV ownership at 17.9 per cent, followed by LG at 17.2 per cent and Sony at 15.7 per cent.
- When asked which brand they plan to buy next, 22.9 per cent of respondents chose Sony, followed by Samsung at 20.1 per cent and LG at 19.7 per cent.
- LG’s share rises by 2.5 percentage points between current ownership and future purchase preference. This suggests that the brand is attracting interest from people considering their next TV.

- While Sony and Samsung remain ahead in future purchase preference, LG is close behind Samsung, with just a 0.4 percentage point gap. Its position among the top three brands in both metrics points to an established presence and continued interest among TV buyers.
- One possible reason is LG’s dominant presence in the premium TV segment, particularly with its OLED range. The brand offers several tiers, from the B series to the C series and flagship G series, giving buyers different levels of picture performance and features. Its newer OLED models also bring advanced panel technology, including Tandem OLED displays in select 2026 models.
LG records high brand loyalty among TV users

- LG ranks second in brand loyalty, with 46 per cent of respondents saying they are likely to buy another LG TV when upgrading. Sony leads the list at 52.8 per cent, while Samsung follows at 43 per cent.
- This puts LG ahead of several major TV brands and shows that a sizeable share of its existing users would consider sticking with the brand for their next purchase.
- The result is quite impressive given LG’s position in the current ownership rankings. The brand accounts for 17.2 per cent of TV ownership among respondents, placing it second behind Samsung at 17.9 per cent.
- It also ranks third in future purchase preference, with 19.7 per cent of respondents planning to buy an LG TV next. This points to an established user base and continued interest from prospective buyers.
- LG’s repeat purchase intent could reflect the experience its existing customers have had with the brand.
- Picture and sound quality, along with the overall smart TV experience, could be among the factors that influence whether users return to the brand when upgrading. We’ll discuss that in the next section.
LG performs well in picture and sound quality satisfaction

- LG ranks second in picture quality satisfaction, with 81.6 per cent of respondents satisfied with their TV’s picture quality. Sony leads at 87.4 per cent, while Samsung follows closely at 80.8 per cent.
- LG also ranks third in sound quality satisfaction, with 71.5 per cent of respondents rating their TV positively. Sony leads at 78.2 per cent, followed by VU at 72.9 per cent. LG scores ahead of Samsung and TCL, both at 67.7 per cent.

- Good picture and sound quality can improve the overall viewing experience without requiring buyers to spend more on accessories. TVs with capable built-in speakers may reduce the need for a separate soundbar or speaker system, helping buyers manage their overall spending.
- While the survey does not directly link these satisfaction scores to LG’s brand loyalty, its results show that the brand performs well across both aspects. This could be one of several factors influencing users who are considering another LG TV when upgrading.

- LG also ranks third in value-for-money satisfaction, with 72.3 per cent of respondents rating their TV 4 or higher on this metric. While Samsung leads at 76.7 per cent, LG scores just behind Sony at 72.9 per cent.
- This suggests that LG’s appeal is not limited to picture and sound quality, with a majority of respondents also viewing its TVs favourably in terms of value for money.
Based on our survey results so far (read here), LG appears to be a leading brand among Indian TV buyers, with a sizeable existing user base and continued interest from those planning their next purchase. Its performance in picture and sound quality satisfaction, along with favourable value-for-money ratings, further enhances its appeal across these key aspects of the viewing experience.
The survey also suggests LG has retained the interest of its existing users, with 46 per cent likely to buy another TV from the brand when upgrading. While Sony leads in both future purchase preference and brand loyalty, LG’s position across ownership, satisfaction and repeat purchase intent points to a well-established presence in the market and continued appeal among buyers.
