Meta introduces Muse Image for AI image generation across Instagram Stories and WhatsApp

Highlights

AI-generated images have become a major part of the internet, and their rise shows no signs of slowing down. Meta has now introduced Muse Image, its first image-generation model from Meta Superintelligence Labs. Since the model is part of Meta AI, it is built directly into Meta’s apps, including Instagram. This means users can not only create and reimagine images, but also share them easily on platforms like Instagram and bring friends into the experience. This could give Meta AI an edge over competing platforms like Google’s Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude.

Muse Image by Meta

Muse Image is built into Meta AI, and it works by creating new images or reimagining existing ones. For example, you can ask it to create an image of you in front of a historical landmark, remove a photobomber, or even ask it to build a functional QR code. Meta says that Muse Image can render text cleanly inside your visuals, such as a how-to guide or a detailed infographic.

There are advantages here for Meta, considering it has one of the most used social media platforms in the world. For example, you can ask Meta AI to redesign your room with real products from the web or Facebook Marketplace. So if there’s a specific piece of furniture you want in your room, Meta AI will pull that product and place it in the design.
