The Motorola Edge 70 Max is set to launch in India on July 15th at 12 pm. The launch event is expected to be livestreamed on Motorola’s social media channels and YouTube. As always, we’ll be covering the event live, bringing you the Motorola Edge 70 Max price in India, full specifications, availability details, and everything else announced at the launch.
There is no official word on the Motorola Edge 70 Max price in India yet. However, based on its expected specifications, the handset is likely to be the most premium model in the Edge 70 series. That title is currently held by the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, which starts at Rs 47,999.
If we were to speculate, the Motorola Edge 70 Max could be priced under Rs 55,000 for the base variant. The smartphone will be sold exclusively via Flipkart and is expected to be available in at least two colour options: Blue and Green.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max will flaunt a design slightly different from its siblings. Instead of curved edges, the handset flaunts flat edges – similar to other contemporary smartphones. This is said to improve ergonomics, enhance grip, and avoid accidental screen touch. Furthermore, the smartphone will feature a glass back instead of fabric. The frame will be aluminium for a premium in-hand feel and durability. The front of the device offers Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, which should confidently survive minor scratches, drops and falls.
Performance
Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 Max will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the same processor found in devices such as the Motorola Signature, OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R. The company claims the chipset can deliver an AnTuTu score of over 3 million and will be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, alongside dedicated on-device AI processing.
For peak sustained performance, the phone will feature Motorola’s ActivMesh cooling system with a 5,000mm2 vapour chamber, designed to efficiently dissipate heat and reduce performance throttling during extended gaming sessions and demanding workloads.
Display
On the front, the Edge 70 Max will sport what Motorola claims is the segment’s first Quad HD+ 10-bit LTPO AMOLED display. The panel supports a dynamic 144Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 colour gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness. Motorola also says the display is capable of delivering up to 120fps gameplay in BGMI for a smoother gaming experience.
Battery
Powering the device will be a significant 7,100mAh battery with support for 90W TurboPower wired charging. Motorola has also confirmed magnetic wireless charging support, which it claims is a first in its category. The Edge 70 Max appears to feature built-in magnets similar to Apple’s MagSafe system, allowing compatible magnetic chargers and accessories to snap onto the device.
Software and other features
While the suspense on the Motorola Edge 70 Max’s cameras remains, the smartphone is confirmed to feature an additional button on the left edge, which is expected to function as the Moto AI Key. Furthermore, the handset is tipped to launch in Glacier Blue, Onyx Black and Sage Green colour options. Software-wise, the smartphone will run the latest HelloUI out of the box. Alleged leaked promotional material also references ‘Qira’, Motorola’s on-device AI assistant, which is expected to offer features such as real-time translation, AI-powered search, text summarisation and AI-assisted photo editing.
Overall, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is shaping up to be a performance-focused flagship with premium hardware, magnetic wireless charging and an expanded suite of AI capabilities, making it one of the most interesting additions to the Edge 70 series.
