Motorola’s upcoming Edge 70 Pro+ is launching in India later this week as a new premium mind-range phone. The Edge 70 Pro+ will sit at the top of Motorola’s Edge 70 lineup, which already includes the Edge 70 Fusion and Edge 70 Pro. The new model is slated to bring several upgrades, particularly in cameras. Motorola has already confirmed that the device will launch in India on June 4th and will be available via Flipkart, Motorola India, and select retail stores.
Ahead of its scheduled India launch, a new leak suggests the expected pricing of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+. Here are the details.
The handset could be priced at Rs 47,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, according to tipster Sanju on X. If accurate, this would positionin the phone in the increasingly competitive premium mid-range segment. It wouldn’t be surprising though if the leaked pricing comes out true as the Edge 70 Pro also starts at Rs 38,999, and the Pro+ model would naturally be more expensive.
This also suggests the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ could launch with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage as the base memory configuration. For context, the Edge 70 Pro is offered in 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants.
On the specifications front, the Edge 70 Pro+ will feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K curved display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This is the same chipset as the Edge 70 Pro, which is already known to offer one of the best performances in the segment.
The camera setup appears to be one of the phone’s biggest highlights. The handset is confirmed to feature a triple rear camera system comprising a 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom. The periscope camer would be an advantage here for the Edge 70 Pro+ among its peers, for zoom photography and portraits. For selfies and video calls, Motorola is including a 50MP front camera with autofocus support.
Like the Edge 70 Pro, the Pro+ will also pack a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. This battery capacity should provide a day’s usage comfortably and even more with light activites.
If the leaked Rs 47,999 price turns out to be accurate, Motorola could have a compelling option for buyers seeking a premium and stylish Android phone with a flagship-like experience. The Edge 70 Pro+ appears aimed at users who prioritise photography, premium design and dependable performance and battery life. Buyers focused primarily on gaming performance may still find alternatives from iQOO and OnePlus attractive, but the Edge 70 Pro+ seems like a better well-rounded option. We should still wait for the official details and then reviews, to see how the Edge 70 Pro+ compares with rivals.
