Nothing appears to be expanding its audio lineup once again. Less than a year after unveiling the Ear (3), the company is reportedly preparing to launch the Nothing Ear (3a), expected to be a more affordable alternative aimed at buyers who want the brand’s signature design without the flagship price tag. It was spotted on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification authority recently, suggesting an imminent launch. Now, a new leak reveals what could be the Nothing Ear (3a) Euro pricing and colour options.
According to a new leak, the Nothing Ear (3a) is expected to cost €99 in France, matching the launch price of the Nothing Ear (a) from 2024. This means that the Ear (3a) will be offered as a budget option, like its predecessor. The TWS will be available in four colour options: black, white, yellow, and pink.
For context, the Nothing Ear (3) debuted at €179 in Europe, meaning the upcoming Ear (3a) could undercut the flagship model by a substantial margin. While specifications remain under wraps, the naming itself offers clues about Nothing’s strategy.
The original Ear (a) served as a more accessible version of the premium Ear, retaining many of the core features while making a few compromises to hit a lower price point. If Nothing follows the same formula, the Ear (3a) could offer active noise cancellation, solid sound quality, and the brand’s distinctive transparent design, albeit with fewer premium extras than the Ear (3).
The move is particularly interesting given that the Ear (3) only arrived last year. Rather than replacing its flagship earbuds, Nothing seems to be broadening its portfolio to appeal to a wider audience, similar to what it has done with the recently introduced Headphone (1) and the more affordable Headphone (a).
We still don’t have any details around the Nothing Ear (a)’s specifications, but we could get to know soon. What we can say now is that if you want the best features Nothing has to offer, the Ear (3) will likely remain the top choice. However, if the Ear (3a) inherits most of the essentials at nearly half the price, it could emerge as one of the most compelling mid-range earbuds in its segment. So if a budget TWS is on your list, then the Nothing Ear (a) could be worth waiting for.
