The OnePlus Mind Space feature, which debuted with the OnePlus 13s in early June, has started to land on the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, and OnePlus 11R this week with the OxygenOS 15.0.0.840 update. Mind Space is a dedicated app that saves on-screen content, making it easy to revisit later. Along with Mind Space, the update brings new filters to the Camera app, multitasking additions, several quality of life improvements, the July 2025 security patch, and more.
With OnePlus Mind Space being the major highlight of the update, this feature lets users quickly save any content they come across. This content could be anything ranging from articles, event posters, reminders, to-do lists, online meetups, etc. When a time-bound event is saved to Mind Space, such as a concert, a party, or official meetings, the system not only saves the event’s details but can also automatically remind you about the event when it’s nearing.
While the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus Nord 5 have a dedicated ‘Plus Key’ button to save content to Mind Space with just a click, the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11 series have different mechanics. On these phones, the on-screen content can be added to Mind Space by swiping up with three fingers.
In our review of the OnePlus 13s, we said that “this feature intelligently organises important information saved in your phone and allows you to access it in one centralised location, called Mind Space. It uses contextual AI to understand saved information, such as detecting a calendar event on your screen and suggesting adding that event to Calendar, summarising information in a screenshot and providing a crisp summary next to it in the Mind Space app, and so on.” The feature worked as intended and performed well whenever needed.
Along with Mind Space, the update also adds the AI Perfect Shot feature, which supports recognising and replacing the facial expressions of the same person in different scenes to create the best shots. OnePlus’s decision to bring the latest AI features to its existing flagships from as far back as two years ago instils confidence that the company genuinely cares about its users and invests in long-term support, not just through major Android upgrades but also by introducing new and useful features.
The rollout also mirrors a broader industry trend where brands like Samsung, Google, and OnePlus are using software updates to backport AI features, ensuring wider adoption without needing new hardware.
The OxygenOS 15.0.0.840 update introduces new soft light filters to the Photo and Portrait modes in the Camera app, providing dreamy and more stunning effects for images. The floating windows have been upgraded to support placement at the bottom of the screen. Similarly, notifications have been improved to support the ‘Temporary block’ feature, which allows users to block incoming banner notifications for a specified period.
Since the update changelog is almost the same across all four phones – OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, and OnePlus 11R, you can visit the official OnePlus Community blog post of the OnePlus 12 to view the entire changelog.
With the Mind Space and AI Perfect Shot update, OnePlus 11 and 12 series owners get meaningful new features without having to upgrade, extending the practical value of their phones. If you already own one of these devices, updating is a no-brainer to access AI-enhanced productivity and camera improvements. For new buyers, these phones, especially if available at a discount, offer strong long-term software support, making them a compelling choice in the current market. Overall, the OxygenOS 15.0.0.840 update makes these older OnePlus models more capable and future-proof, reinforcing their value in 2025.
