OnePlus 12 vs Vivo X100 blind camera comparison: premium flagships go head to head

OnePlus 12 (review) and Vivo X100 (review) are two recently launched flagships in India, available for under Rs 65,000. These handsets compete with each other in various aspects. In this comparison, we invite you to help assess the camera capabilities of the two smartphones in different scenarios. The names of the smartphones have been masked so that you won’t know which photo has been shot by which device. Vote for the image you like the best, and in a few weeks, we will announce the results.

Daylight shot

For the daylight shots, we used the 50MP main camera on the OnePlus 12 and Vivo X100 in their default settings. The handsets utilise quad pixel-binning technology to output 12.5MP images. Check out the results above and cast your vote for the image that offers superior details, colours, and dynamic range.

Ultra-wide shot

The ultra-wide lens on the OnePlus 12 is slightly lower than the Vivo X100 in terms of megapixel count and field-of-view (FoV). The handset boasts a 48MP ultra-wide camera, with 114-degree FoV, as opposed to a 50MP lens on the Vivo smartphone that supports 119-degree FoV. Does this difference suggest superior results for the Vivo X100? Share your opinion by casting your vote.

Telephoto shot

OnePlus 12 and Vivo X100 both feature a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Check out the results from both smartphones with 3x optical zoom and let us know which image showcases more details and sharpness while still preserving vibrant colours with your vote.

Portrait shot

For this comparison, we opted for the primary camera of both smartphones to capture portrait shots, even though the OnePlus 12 favours a telephoto lens for portraits. Cast your vote for the phone that excels in both edge detection and the bokeh effect.

Selfie shot

The selfie shot above has been captured with a 32MP front camera in the punch-hole setup on both devices. Share your thoughts on which smartphone captures selfies with superior facial details and more accurate skin tones.

Macro shot

The OnePlus 12 and Vivo X100 may not have a dedicated macro camera, but they can still click close-up shots of the subject. That being said, the Vivo smartphone does this with a telephoto lens, whereas on the OnePlus 12, the ultra-wide sensor doubles up as a macro lens. Vote which phone you think has taken the best shot.

Low light

Time to check out the lowlight performance of smartphones. Both the OnePlus 12 and Vivo X100 use a large sensor and a relatively wide aperture to let in more light and finer details. Take a look at the lowlight shots attached above and vote on which image you think is the best.

Night mode

Night mode has become standard feature in smartphones. It uses backend computational chops to further enhance the low-light images. The implementation, however, may vary for different OEMs. Check out the above images that use each device’s respective Night mode and vote on which photo you think is the best.
