OnePlus has rolled out a new software update for the 13s (review) in India, which brings some useful features for the compact flagship. The latest update is rolling out in batches, reaching a small percentage of users today, and a broader rollout in a few days. Two standout features in this software update are the ability to edit images without compromising image quality and bypass charging. Here are the complete details.
The OnePlus 13s software update version is CPH2723_16.0.3.501(EX01) for users in India. You can check if your 13s has received the update by going to Settings > System & update > Software update. If it isn’t here yet, it should be available soon, as the update is rolling out in batches.
One of the key additions in this update is the ability to edit photos in the Photos app without compromising image quality. The feature supports edits on images up to 50MP. By default, the OnePlus 13s captures 12MP photos, but users can switch to 50MP by heading to the ‘More’ section and selecting ‘Hi-Res’. While these higher-resolution images take up more storage, the new update ensures that edits retain their original quality, giving photography enthusiasts greater flexibility and control during post-processing.

OnePlus 13s also supports bypass charging with the latest software update. This feature is essential, especially if you’re someone who games a lot or relies on the phone for some intensive usage. Bypass charging will be activated when you’re charging the phone, and what it does is it draws power from the charger and not the battery, which reduces overheating and helps protect the battery. It’s a good feature that lets you simultaneously use and charge your phone. Most performance-focused phones already offer this feature, so it’s good that the 13s has also received it.
The new software update also improves app categorisation in rawer mode by adding the “Office” and “Finance” categories to make it easier to find apps. This update also brings the latest January 2026 Android security patch for the 13s.
More changes in this update include:
- You can now browse files in Private Safe by sliding the side slider.
- You can now search for files from folders in Private Safe.
- You can now share files in Private Safe.
- Adds a “Reply with SMS” switch that lets you hide the SMS reply option on the incoming call screen.
- This feature is available in “Contacts – Settings – Answer/End calls – Reply with SMS”.
Launched last year as OnePlus’s first compact flagship in India, the 13s continues to receive feature-focused updates aimed at improving everyday usage and long-term reliability. With additions like lossless photo editing, bypass charging, and the latest security patch, this update reinforces OnePlus’s software support approach for the device as the rollout expands to more users in the coming days. While we can’t say whether this update means you should buy the OnePlus 13s, but you can consider the phone for its compact size, flagship performance, reliable battery life, and good cameras.
