The OnePlus 15 launched in India just last week. It also teased the launch of the OnePlus 15R, confirming its imminent arrival. As tradition, the OnePlus 15R would launch as the global version of the OnePlus Ace 6, which made its debut alongside the 15 in China. But there have been rumours that another phone, the OnePlus Ace 6T, will instead launch as the 15R outside China. While that possibility is still being speculated, OnePlus has confirmed that the Ace 6T will launch in China.
What’s special about this phone? It’s tipped to launch as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered phone. This is an unannounced chipset tipped to use Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU on TSMC’s N3P process, with an octa-core setup featuring two 3.8GHz cores and six 3.32GHz cores, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. It may follow the same design blueprint and GPU architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but with fewer GPU processing units to cut costs. Even so, the GPU is expected to retain the same 1.2GHz clock speed as the flagship chip.
Qualcomm has yet to announce this chipset, but since the OnePlus Ace 6T is confirmed to launch this month, we could see the SoC also debut soon. In addition to this chipset, the OnePlus Ace 6T is also tipped to support 165fps gaming like the flagship OnePlus 15. This means a 165Hz refresh rate, which is likely since the Ace 6 also offers the same. Tipster Abhishek Yadav also suggests that the OnePlus Ace 6T will offer top-tier performance and long battery life. In terms of design, the handset is said to feature a camera deco similar to the OnePlus 15, which is a square-shaped design tucked in the top-left corner.
Based on these details, we can expect the OnePlus Ace 6T to launch as a performance-focused phone with flagship-level performance but without the premium price tag. OnePlus 15 launched in India at a starting price of Rs 72,999, which is higher than the OnePlus 13 (Rs 69,999). The OnePlus 13R was launched at Rs 42,999, so the Ace 6T or Ace 6, for that matter, would be priced less than the flagship model.
OnePlus has focused primarily on performance and reliable battery life with its latest flagship lineup. The upcoming OnePlus Ace 6T is also expected to follow suit.
