OnePlus will kickstart the new year 2026 with the launch of the Turbo 6-series smartphones in its home country, China. In a post on Weibo, the OEM confirmed that the handsets will break covers on January 8th. In a live event, the company also confirmed key specs of the lineup, along with design and model details. While it is not confirmed yet, the OnePlus Turbo 6 series is rumoured to debut in India as the OnePlus Nord 6.

As confirmed by the previous leaks and rumours, the OnePlus Turbo 6 series will be a mid-range lineup – positioned below the company’s number lineup. The series will comprise two models: namely, OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V. The Turbo 6 will be the most powerful of the two, with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC ticking at its core, aided by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 onboard storage. The SoC is rated to be a powerful, budget-friendly chipset for “Flagship Killer” phones.

It is the same chipset that has rocked iQOO Neo 10, Nothing Phone (3), and POCO F7 in the past. If the Indian version of the smartphone, OnePlus Nord 6, is also launched with the same chipset, it will bring a significant upgrade in performance over its predecessor, OnePlus Nord 5. The chipset should also be more than capable of supporting the OnePlus Turbo 6’s 165Hz screen refresh rate, which we previously saw on OnePlus 15 and 15R smartphones. The handset will sport a 1.5K resolution display.

Needless to say, the OnePlus Turbo 6 will cater to the needs of gamers, and to back their demanding and prolonged usage, OnePlus has included a mammoth 9,000mAh battery. This aligns with earlier leaks and rumours, and if accurate, it would be the largest battery ever seen on a smartphone in the Indian market. The battery will be supported by 80W wired charging and 27W reverse charging.

The OnePlus Turbo 6 will also boast a design similar to the OnePlus 15 series. Per the official images, there will be a square-shaped squircle camera module at the back with flat edges. The display will have a punch-hole setup. While the phone is said to feature a plastic build instead of aluminium, it will not compromise on durability. The handset will come with triple IP ratings: IP68, IP69, and IP69K, which not only protect it from water and dust, but also from high-pressure and temperature jets.

In optics, the OnePlus Turbo 6 is teased to feature a 50MP primary and an 8MP ultrawide lens in the dual rear camera setup. The front camera is going to be a 32MP shooter. For security, there is going to be an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The OnePlus Turbo 6’s younger sibling Turbo 6V, which could be Nord CE6 in India, will debut with similar specifications. But, instead of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, the phone will rock the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC. This chipset is yet to debut on a smartphone in India. Moving on, the smartphone will feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate.

Both smartphones are expected to come with a matte frame and colour-matched edges. As for the colour options, the Turbo 6 is teased in black, silver, and a turquoise shade, whereas the Turbo 6V will be available in black and silver colour options. The silver variant appears to have a line pattern, per the renders.

The OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V official pricing have not been revealed yet. But, similar to the recent flagship OnePlus smartphones, these mid-range phones could also see a price hike.
