OnePlus Turbo 6, Turbo 6V launches with massive 9,000mAh battery, Snapdragon chipsets, and up to 165Hz refresh rate
OnePlus has gone all-in on endurance with the new Turbo 6 series in China with a staggering 9,000mAh battery. Both the OnePlus Turbo 6 and the Turbo 6V arrive with what is now one of the largest battery packs ever seen in a mainstream smartphone, promising easily around two days of use even for heavy gamers and binge streamers.
The OnePlus Turbo 6 sits at the top of the lineup and pairs that gigantic battery with 80W fast charging, 27W reverse wired charging, and bypass charging to keep heat in check during long gaming sessions. Up front, it features a tall 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, a 165Hz variable refresh rate, 330Hz touch sampling, and both PWM and DC dimming for eye comfort. Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, backed by up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. This is a powerful mid-range chipset offering one of the best performance scores in the segment. Camera hardware is relatively modest for the segment, with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP monochrome lens on the rear, plus a 16MP selfie camera. Performance and endurance are key on the OnePlus Turbo 6. The smartphone also boots Android 16 with ColorOS 16 and comes with stereo speakers, an IR blaster, an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance rating.
The OnePlus Turbo 6V trims things down slightly while keeping the same 9,000mAh battery and fast-charging capabilities. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Its display remains a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel, though the refresh rate tops out at 144Hz instead of 165Hz. The camera setup is identical to the Turbo 6, as is the software experience with ColorOS 16 and all other features, including the four IP ratings.
The Turbo 6 is clearly aimed at power users who want top-tier performance, ultra-smooth visuals, and gaming-friendly features, such as bypass charging. At the same time, the Turbo 6V is better suited to everyday users who want a similar experience but at a more affordable price.
While these devices have launched only in China for now, the OnePlus Turbo 6 is widely expected to arrive internationally as the OnePlus Nord 6, including in India, much like earlier Turbo models that were rebranded under the Nord series. If that happens, the Nord 6 could dramatically raise the bar in the mid-premium segment by combining near-flagship performance with a battery that dwarfs most rivals. However, we may see a slightly smaller battery capacity in global variants. Even with the reduction, the OnePlus Nord 6 is still expected to offer a massive battery capacity.
OnePlus Nord 6 is slated to launch this year but it could take some time as its predecessor, the Nord 5, debuted last July. The handset is still worth waiting for if you’re on the lookout for a performance-focused device with a highly reliable battery life.
