  • OnePlus Turbo 6x and Turbo 6x Pro could target the budget and midrange market.

  • These smartphones are likely to remain exclusive to China.

Having recently launched the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra in its home market, it appears that the brand is now preparing to target the budget and midrange market with the release of the Turbo 6x and Turbo 6x Pro. The listings of these smartphones have been spotted on Google Play Console, revealing their key specifications. Just last month, a OnePlus phone with the model number PYR110 appeared on China’s TENAA certification database. It is widely rumoured to be the Turbo 6x Pro.

What the OnePlus Turbo 6x and Turbo 6x Pro could offer

According to the Google Play Console database (via XpertPick), the previously revealed OnePlus phone on the TENAA certification, carrying the model number PYR110, could be named OnePlus Turbo 6x Pro, while the device with the model number PYS110 will likely be called OnePlus Turbo 6x.

Given the naming scheme, it’s easy to infer that the OnePlus Turbo 6x Pro will be the higher-end variant of the Turbo 6x. These smartphones could join the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V family, which were launched in China in January as performance-oriented smartphones.

On the specifications front, the Turbo 6X serves as the more affordable option, sporting a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset and backed by a large 7,000mAh battery. With such a big cell, it suggests OnePlus is prioritising endurance, a smart move for the demanding Chinese market. Memory configurations could include 6GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB variants.

The OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro, on the other hand, could sport a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel and could run on the more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. It might pack an even bigger 8,000mAh battery and could offer higher memory options ranging from 6GB up to 16GB RAM, along with storage up to 1TB. For cameras, the standard Turbo 6X gets a basic 50MP + 2MP dual setup, while the Pro model upgrades to a 50MP + 8MP combination. On the front, they feature 8MP and 16MP selfie cameras, respectively. Both devices are expected to run on ColorOS 16.

If the specifications appear similar, then don’t doubt your thinking, as the recently launched OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite and Nord CE 6 featured a similar set of specifications as the Turbo 6x and Turbo 6x Pro, respectively. Per our experience with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and Dimensity 7400, both handsets should offer enough raw power for daily use. Now, let’s move on to the design renders.

Here’s how the OnePlus Turbo 6x and Turbo 6x Pro could look like

Firstly, the OnePlus Turbo 6x looks strikingly similar to the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, since it features a left-aligned vertical camera array, and also appears to carry a matte-like finish rear panel. On the other hand, the Turbo 6x Pro could take cues from the OnePlus 15 and the Nord CE 6 series by featuring a subtly designed protruding square camera module.

While it will be available in multiple colour options, the renders suggest that the Turbo 6X Pro will feature a bold purple shade, similar to the one seen on the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R. This makes it a preferable choice for those who want a fun, funky look.

Since the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V have remained exclusive to China, the upcoming Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro are also likely to skip international markets. This is further supported by the fact that these models reportedly share specifications similar to those of the Nord CE 6 series. The strategy behind releasing these models is most likely to penetrate the market deeply and present them as alternatives to the existing offerings from Vivo, Xiaomi, Huawei, and others.
