OPPO Find X9 Ultra teased ahead of April launch: will be first ‘Ultra’ model to debut globally
OPPO has confirmed that its next Find X-series flagship will arrive in April, not long after the company launched its Find N6 foldable in China. The update came from OPPO Product Manager Zhou Yibao on Weibo, who confirmed the timeline but didn’t name the devices at the time. However, shortly after, OPPO’s global X handle and Chief Product Officer Pete Lau both teased the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, confirming both the name and its April debut. Lau also said this will be OPPO’s first Ultra phone to launch globally, hinting at a wider rollout than some earlier models.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra image teases new Quick Button
OPPO has also shared the first teaser image of the Find X9 Ultra. The image shows a pressure-sensitive orange button on the side, which the company calls ‘Quick Button’ for camera controls. OPPO has used similar hardware before, where this button (also referred to as Snap Key) works as a touch-sensitive control for quick camera access. It can launch the camera with a double-tap, act as a shutter button, allow zoom through sliding gestures, and support custom actions like audio recording. Its inclusion reflects a broader industry trend, with more brands adding dedicated camera buttons after Apple introduced one on the iPhone 16 lineup.

Pre-reservations for the Find X9 Ultra and another model, expected to be the Find X9s Pro, are already open in China. OPPO hasn’t yet confirmed details about the second device.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra specifications (expected)
Most of the hardware details so far come from leaks. Tipster Debayan Roy claims the Find X9 Ultra and related models will launch in India in April, although OPPO hasn’t confirmed this. Another tipster, Digital Chat Station, has shared details around the camera setup and a possible high-end variant.
If these details are accurate, the Find X9 Ultra could feature a quad-camera system led by a 200MP primary sensor, expected to be the Sony LYTIA 901. A second 200MP sensor is also tipped for periscope zoom, alongside 50MP ultra-wide and telephoto cameras, plus a multi-spectral sensor aimed at improving colour accuracy. Other expected specifications include a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO OLED display, a flagship Snapdragon chipset, and a large battery with fast wired and wireless charging. OPPO has not confirmed these specifications yet.
There are also mentions of a special edition variant with higher storage, possibly up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, along with a bundled teleconverter accessory. The naming is still unclear, with some leaks calling it a ‘Master Kit’ version and others referring to a ‘Hasselblad Master Edition.’ OPPO hasn’t confirmed the final name or details.
In terms of competition, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to go up against devices like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra, which launches later this month. OPPO’s previous model, the OPPO Find X8 Ultra, was noted for its camera performance, and the new model appears to build on that with higher resolution sensors and more zoom flexibility.
For buyers, the Find X9 Ultra looks geared towards users who prioritise camera performance and more hands-on controls. At the same time, with pricing, confirmed specifications, and availability still unclear, it may be worth waiting for the official launch to see how it compares with other Ultra flagships.
