Update: OPPO has officially confirmed the launch of the Find X9s in India, and that it would be powered by the Dimensity 9500s. The announcement was made at the India launch of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s and the Dimensity 8500 at the MediaTek Tech Day.
Original story follows.
OPPO may finally be ready to give Indian buyers something they’ve been asking for: a true compact flagship that doesn’t compromise on performance. We’re talking about the OPPO Find X9s, an upcoming compact flagship expected to launch in China soon. It’s highly rumoured to debut in India as well, marking it the first ‘s’ model from OPPO’s flagship series to arrive here. OPPO currently has the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, but it might expand the lineup soon with the Find X9s.
According to a new report by SmartPrix, OPPO is planning to launch the Find X9s in India in Q2 2026. The smartphone is tipped to launch in other South Asian markets as well. This means that we might see the Find X9s launch in India between April and June. It’s tipped to debut in China in March.
The OPPO Find X9s is rumoured to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, built on a cutting-edge 3nm process. MediaTek positions the “s” lineup as hyper-efficient flagship chipsets that deliver near-top-tier performance while keeping heat and power consumption under control. This means more consistent gaming performance, smoother multitasking, and better battery life in real-world usage. The Find X9s could have a practical edge over some Snapdragon-powered rivals, but this is something we’ll find out much later.

Not just performance, the Find X9s might also be the first compact flagship to offer a dual 200MP camera setup. The setup would be a main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera as well. With this setup, the Find X9s would be the camera flagship to watch out for, especially with the current reputation of its older siblings, the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro.
The Find X9s is tipped to feature a compact 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. OPPO might use a LIPO panel, which is exclusively designed for ultra-thin bezels. This would be a great addition for the Find X9s since it’s a compact phone as users will still get a full-screen experience. The handset is also tipped to pack a 7,000mAh battery, making it the largest on a compact flagship.
The compact flagship is also tipped to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and get full water resistance, up to IP69 or IP69K. Additional features rumoured for the Find X9s include a multispectral lens and a collaborative imaging product, which could be a teleconverter like the one on the Find X9 Pro.
With an Indian launch tipped, the Find X9s is surely going to be one of the most popular releases this year. For Indian users who want flagship-grade performance without the bulk, the Find X9s could hit a sweet spot that very few Android phones currently occupy. More importantly, if pricing undercuts ultra-premium models while still offering top-tier hardware. The OPPO Find X9 starts at Rs 74,999 in India, so the Find X9s could be priced around the same. If these rumors hold, those looking for a compact flagship might consider holding off on current purchases until Q2 to see the official launch and pricing.
More details around the Find X9s are expected as we move closer to Q2. But even at this stage, the OPPO Find X9s is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing flagship launches this year.
