Oppo might soon be entering the compact smartphone segment with the Reno 15 Mini, a new addition to the upcoming Reno 15 series. While Oppo’s Reno series has typically focused on sleek designs and camera prowess, the Reno 15 Mini could mark a refreshing shift toward smaller, more pocket-friendly smartphones, something that’s becoming a gradual trend in the Android ecosystem. With a reportedly 6.32-inch flat display, it’s set to be one of the few compact options alongside devices like the OnePlus 13s and Vivo X200 FE, both popular among users who prefer one-handed usability without compromising on performance.
There’s no official teaser yet, but the OPPO Reno 15 lineup is expected to debut in India in December, according to a report by 91mobiles Hindi. The lineup will feature the Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro, and Reno 15 Mini.
Despite its smaller size, the Reno 15 Mini isn’t expected to cut corners. Early leaks suggest it could sport a triple rear camera setup, led by a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor, alongside 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP periscope cameras. On the front, users might get a 50MP selfie shooter, keeping the Reno series’ imaging legacy intact. The phone is also tipped to feature a metal frame and IP68+IP69 dust and water resistance, giving it a premium edge in the compact category.
Under the hood, the Reno 15 Mini could be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8450 chipset, the same found in the Reno 14 Pro. In our experience, we found the Reno 14 Pro performed smoothly across a variety of tasks and wouldn’t get uncomfortably warm even during gaming and multitasking. Based on the leaked details, the combination of high-end internals and a smaller display could make the Reno 15 Mini a well-rounded compact Android flagship.
The Oppo Reno 15 Mini could become a standout device for users who crave premium specs in a compact form, and one that’s more affordably priced than the OnePlus 13s and Vivo X200 FE, which launched at Rs 54,999. This is based on the Reno series’ usual pricing of under Rs 50,000. If you’ve been on the search for a compact phone, then the Reno 15 Mini would be one worth waiting for. OPPO is known for keeping the design stylish and premium for its Reno lineup, so the Reno 15 Mini would presumably be a good-looking device.
As for the rest of the series, the Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro are reportedly equipped with 6.59-inch and 6.78-inch displays, respectively. The Pro model is expected to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, a 6,500mAh battery, and 50W wireless charging. OPPO refreshes its Reno series every six months, so it’s quite likely that we’ll see the Reno 15 series debut in December as predicted.
