POCO F9 Pro, F9 Ultra to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 series chipsets, confirms POCO

POCO is following its yearly tradition of bringing its flagship F-series smartphones to the global market. After teasing the POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra for the past several days, the company has confirmed that these phones will be powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful flagship chipsets. The launch is all set to take place on September 1st, where the pricing details will also be revealed for the markets the phones will launch in.

POCO F9 Pro, F9 Ultra chipsets revealed

According to an X post made by POCO’s global handle (@POCOGlobal), the POCO F9 Ultra is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same processor that runs on the Xiaomi 17 series, while the POCO F9 Pro will rock the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V series processor. The key difference between the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the 8 Elite Gen 5 V series is that the latter carries fewer GPU slices and less High Performance Memory (HPM), resulting in slightly less graphics throughput.

In a subsequent post, POCO revealed that the F9 Ultra achieves an AnTuTu score of 41,65,108, putting it alongside or even above top-tier flagships such as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
