Realme has started teasing its next smartphone launch in India , the Realme C85 5G. Its highlight? A large 7,000mAh battery, the biggest ever on a Realme C-series phone. 7,000mAh batteries have turned out to be the highlight this year for smartphones with its availability spanning across price segments, even budget, which is where the Realme C85 5G is expected to be placed in. This is based on its predecessor, the Realme C75, which launched in India at Rs 12,999. Let’s take a look at everything else that has been revealed so far about the Realme C85 5G.
The Realme C85 5G’s 7,000mAh battery is claimed to last for two days on a single charge. This could be possible with moderate usage, and good optimisation of the phone. However, to actually find out how long the Realme C85 can last on a full charge, we’ll have to wait for the detailed review. The smartphone will support 45W fast charging, which is claimed to give 1.5 hours of usage on just 5 minutes of charge. It will also come with 6.5W reverse charging. Realme says the C85’s battery is built to last for six years, making it a good choice for long-term use.
Up front, the Realme C85 is confirmed to feature an AMOLED display with 1200 nits of peak brightness, which is quite decent for a budget phone. The smartphone is IP69-rated making it highly resistant to dust and water. On top of that, you get military-grade shock resistance with the Realme C85. More confirmed details include 400 percent louder volume, enhanced signal strength, and AI Edit Genie for editing photos. Speaking of which, the Realme C85 gets a 50MP Sony AI rear camera.
These specs sound the same for the Realme C85 in Vietnam, where it was launched recently. If so, we can also expect a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, and an 8MP front camera. This makes it quite similar to the Realme 15x, with only two key differences here as the 15x has a 50MP sensor and 60W fast charging support. It’s also priced higher at Rs 16,999, so the Realme C85 could act as an affordable alternative.
The Realme C85 5G is launching in India this Friday on November 28th. Realme’s C-series caters to the budget segment so pricing is key here. Battery would definitely be a highlight here for the Realme C85, but there are tough contenders like the Redmi 15 and POCO M7 Pro, which also offer 7,000mAh batteries and are priced under Rs 15,000. Still, there would be another option with the Realme C85 in this category, making it a budget device worth waiting for, if you’re in the market for a battery-focused phone.
