4 reasons to buy and 2 reasons to skip the iQOO Z10

The iQOO Z10 recently went official in India as the country’s first handset to pack a mammoth 7,300mAh battery. The smartphone was launched alongside the more affordable iQOO Z10x in the country. It comes in three configurations with a starting price of Rs 21,999 and is available through Amazon India and the iQOO India e-store.

Here, we will evaluate whether you should buy or skip the iQOO Z10 based on the positives and negatives which we found in our review and other internal tests.

Reasons to buy the iQOO Z10

Impressive performance

The iQOO Z10 draws power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It achieves impressive scores on AnTuTu V10 platform. The device maintains better consistency under sustained workloads. It generates less heat than gaming-focused models like the POCO X7 and Motorola Edge 50 Fusion despite lacking an active vapour chamber cooling system.

AnTuTu score AnTuTu assesses a smartphone's CPU, GPU, memory, and overall user experience (higher is better)

The handset only throttles to 68.3 percent of its peak performance, which is lesser than its rivals. The iQOO Z10 also provides a smooth experience in day-to-day usage without any stutters.

Excellent battery life

The iQOO Z10 packs a massive 7,300mAh silicon battery, which has higher energy density than the traditional batteries. In the PCMark battery test, the handset scored 16 hours and 41 minutes, which is significantly higher than its rivals. The battery declined by just 1 percent during our 30-minute video streaming test. It also delivers similar efficiency under heavy usage, consuming only 4 percent on average after 30 minutes each of BGMI, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Real Racing 3. In real-world tests, it easily lasts more than a day even with heavy usage.

Impressive charging speeds

The iQOO Z10 supports 90W FlashCharge wired fast charging tech, and the brand includes a 90W adapter in the box. In our test, the device charged from 20 percent to 100 percent in just 42 minutes. It is significantly faster than many smartphones with smaller batteries. The device also supports Bypass Charging tech. It allows the motherboard to draw power directly from the charging brick, reducing strain on the battery while charging. It helps to improve battery health and extends its overall lifespan.

Punchy display

The smartphone features an impressive 6.77-inch quad-curved display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It boasts one of the brightest screens in its segment, supporting up to 5,000 nits of brightness. The ultra-slim bezels enhance the immersive viewing experience and provide excellent visibility from all angles. The display also offers an excellent colour profile, which can also be tweaked as per the user’s preference. Although it supports HDR playback, streaming platforms limit content to FHD quality only.

Reasons to skip the iQOO Z10

Lack of an ultra-wide camera

The iQOO Z10 comes with only a main camera and a secondary depth sensor. It doesn’t include an ultrawide lens, which several of its rivals offer. This omission reduces the device’s overall versatility. However, the device supports 4K 30fps recording on both front and rear cameras.

Average low-light photography

The iQOO Z10’s main camera struggles with low-light photography. The white balance is noticeably inaccurate, and the camera struggles to preserve detail and control noise in the images. Although Night mode improves sharpness, it often results in oversaturated colours. It also produces an unnatural-looking sky and boosts green tones to create more vibrant, yet less realistic, images.
