Redmi Note 15 5G 108 Master Pixel Edition to launch in India on January 6th, design teased

Highlights
  • The Redmi Note 15 108 MasterPixel Edition will come with a 108MP camera.
  • The Redmi Note 14 also came with a 108MP camera in India.
  • There is no word yet on the launch of the Redmi Note 15 Pro series in India.

Redmi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 15 5G 108 Master Pixel Edition will launch in India on January 6th, 2026. The confirmation came via a post on X and was followed by a dedicated Amazon microsite, confirming that the phone will indeed be made available via the platform.

Full specifications are not available for now, but the name itself confirms one key feature of the phone. There will be a 108MP main camera that is expected to serve as the headlining specification of this “Master Pixel” edition. The microsite on the Xiaomi website confirms that the phone will also support 4K video recording with OIS. For context, only the Pro models in the preceding Redmi Note 14 series supported 4K video recording at 30fps.

Design teasers on the microsite suggest the phone will come with a slim form factor, curved display, and a metal frame. The left side of the device is clean, indicating all buttons sit on the right, which is a layout many brands use to keep the sides minimal and improve grip comfort. Overall, it places the Note 15 108 Master Pixel Edition closer to the premium mid-range aesthetic that’s slowly becoming common across the segment.

The Redmi Note 15 series is not entirely new. The phones made their debut in China in August this year, comprising the standard Redmi Note 15, Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro+, starting at CNY 1,099 (around Rs 14,000). However, the Note 15 108 Master Pixel Edition is not a rebranded version of either of these as none of the phones that debuted in China pack a 108MP camera.

Earlier leaks paint a mixed picture as far as the rest of the specifications are concerned. Tipster Yogesh Brar, in a post on X, said that the India variant may come fitted with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, an unspecified Snapdragon chipset, HyperOS, and a battery upwards of 5,500mAh. Another tip by Sudhanshu Ambhore suggested a 6.77-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, Android 15-based HyperOS 2, with a weight of 178 gms.

Historically, the Note series has been known for good display quality, reliable battery life, and everyday camera performance at accessible prices. Redmi appears to be pushing its Note lineup a bit more upmarket with the curved screen, slimmer frame, and 108MP branding, yet keeping it in the accessible range for mainstream users as well. More details are likely to emerge in the run-up to the launch in January, but for now, the Redmi Note 15 5G 108 Master Pixel Edition seems to be setting itself up as a refined, camera-first update.

If you’re trying to decide whether to wait for this one, the Redmi Note 15 108 MasterPixel Edition feels like a nice polish rather than a big leap, especially since the Note 14 already had a 108MP camera. What you’re really getting here is a cleaner design, a curved AMOLED screen and the bonus of 4K OIS video. Going by Redmi’s usual pricing, it wouldn’t be surprising if this lands somewhere around Rs 16,000 – Rs 18,000. Since there’s no word yet on the Note 15 Pro models coming to India, this might become the best Note option for loyalists. If you’re after a premium-feel phone with decent cameras but don’t want to stretch your budget too far, this one might be worth holding out for. But if you’re the kind who waits for a spec jump, you may still want to keep an eye out for the Pro series.
