Redmi Note 15 series launching in India in December, Redmi 15C later this month: report
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi brand seems ready for a busy end to the year. A new leak suggests the launch timeline for the popular Redmi Note 15 series in India. Tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ and Redmi Note 15 Pro will arrive in December, with the first sale tipped for January 9th, 2026. This is in line with his earlier tip that Redmi was not going to announce the Indian debut of the Note 15 lineup until 2026. The Redmi Note 15 series launched in China in August this year. Redmi typically gives it a few months before announcing the launch in India, and then subsequently, globally.
Previous reports indicate that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ and Note 15 Pro will be priced similarly to their predecessors, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and Note 14 Pro. For reference, the Note 14 Pro+ started at Rs 30,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the Note 14 Pro began at Rs 24,999. If Redmi maintains this bracket, the Note 15 series will continue sitting in the upper mid-range segment, directly competing with phones like the Realme 15 series, iQOO’s Neo series, and the Vivo V-series. This segment has become more crowded over the past year, with brands offering high-resolution cameras, curved AMOLED screens, and batteries more than 5,500mAh (in most cases) as baseline features.

The China launch of the Note 15 series brought a few upgrades over the last generation. Both the Note 15 Pro and Pro+ sport a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness of 3,200 nits, making the screen brighter than that found on the Note 14 Pros. Under the hood, the Note 15 Pro packs the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra chipset, while the Pro+ debuts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. Camera hardware is also different. The Note 15 Pro boasts a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The Note 15 Pro+ bumps up to a 50MP Light Fusion 800 (OV50E) primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter.
The battery is one of the key highlights as both models house 7,000mAh units, among the largest in this class. Charging speeds are different, though, with about 45W available for the Note 15 Pro and down to 90W for the Pro+, from 120W last year. The phones also boast IP68/69K ratings, which puts them among the more robust options in the price category. While the megapixel count has decreased on the Pro+, compared to last year, improved sensor quality and added telephoto capabilities seem to position the device as a more versatile camera phone than the Note 14 Pro series. The charging speed has also been compromised in accordance with the larger battery.
Besides the Note 15 series, the Redmi 15C is also tipped to launch in India soon, possibly even this month as the same tipster suggests. The phone was introduced in China with two variants: a 4G model powered by the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra and a 5G version using the Dimensity 6300. Both pack a 6,000mAh battery with 33W charging and an IP64 rating. Pricing in India is expected to start around Rs 11,500 for the 4GB + 128GB model, and Rs 14,500 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, as per the leak. This would pit the device squarely against options like the Realme P-series, Samsung Galaxy M17, Vivo T4 lineup, and POCO M7 series.
If you’ve been holding on to a phone from the Note 12 or Note 13 generation, the Note 15 lineup could offer a meaningful upgrade thanks to the brighter display, stronger processors, and massive battery. The Pro+ in particular makes sense for users who want telephoto zoom and faster charging, considering Xiaomi packs similar specifications in the India models. The regular Note 15 Pro should appeal to those who want the new design and battery life but don’t need the extra camera hardware. The Redmi 15C is expected to be a solid pick for budget buyers who prioritise battery life and durability over performance, especially if Redmi sticks to the leaked pricing.
