The Amazon listing hasn’t revealed any specifications yet but will start outing them in the days to come. The launch is notable because Redmi Turbo phones have mostly arrived in India under POCO F-series branding until now. This time, Xiaomi appears to be keeping the Turbo identity intact. That could help Redmi carve out a clearer space in India’s performance-focused smartphone market, especially as brands like OnePlus and iQOO continue pushing gaming-centric hardware in the Rs 40,000 – Rs 45,000 segment. There’s no mention of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max though, so we aren’t sure if that phone is coming to India or not.
Redmi Turbo 5 India launch timeline and pricing
Tipster Sanju Choudhary has suggested that the Redmi Turbo 5 could launch in India on June 10th, although Xiaomi has not confirmed the date officially yet. The phone launched in China earlier this year with a starting price of CNY 1,999 (around Rs 28,200) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The top-end 16GB + 512GB model goes up to CNY 2,599 (around Rs 36,700). Choudhary also suggested that the Indian pricing could stay under Rs 45,000 if the device uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset.
That would put the Redmi Turbo 5 directly against phones like the OnePlus Nord 6, which starts at Rs 38,999 in India, alongside devices such as the Vivo V70 FE and Motorola Edge 70 Pro.
Key specifications (expected)
The Redmi Turbo 5 launched in China with hardware that prioritises gaming, battery life, and charging speed. Here are its specifications:
- MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset
- 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
- Up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage
- 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with OIS
- 7,560mAh silicon-carbon battery
- 100W wired fast charging and 27W wireless charging
- IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K durability ratings
- Metal frame with glass back
Tipster Debayan Roy has suggested the battery capacity could go up to 9,000mAh. While we’re unsure about that, it’ll be interesting if it does as the phone would then directly go head to head with the OnePlus Nord 6 in India.
Redmi appears to be targeting buyers who care more about battery endurance, thermal stability, and gaming performance than camera-heavy marketing or ultra-premium styling. For mobile gamers or heavy users tired of charging twice a day, this could easily become one of the more interesting phones to watch in the upper mid-range category over the next few weeks.
