
Samsung has launched the Galaxy A27 5G in India, expanding its popular Galaxy A-series portfolio with a new mid-range smartphone. The Galaxy A27 5G ditches the notch for a punch-hole design (first impressions) with slim bezels. The smartphone also stands out for its long-term software support, expanding to six years.
The Galaxy A27 starts at Rs 28,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. It comes in two more variants with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The handset will go on sale from July 3rd in Light Green, Light Pink, and Black colour options through Samsung’s online and offline channels. Samsung is offering an Rs. 3,000 bank or UPI cashback along with no-cost EMI options.

The Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. While the chipset isn’t the most powerful in its segment, it should be more than capable of handling everyday tasks, multitasking, casual gaming, and productivity without any issues.
For photography, the phone offers a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, it has a 12MP HDR selfie camera. Samsung has also bundled AI-powered editing features such as Object Eraser, Edit Suggestions, and My Filter.
The handset packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The battery capacity seems quite modest, with rivals offering 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh as the standard these days.
On the software front, the Galaxy A27 runs Android 16-based One UI 8.5 out of the box. The handset also comes with six generations of Android and One UI upgrades alongside six years of security updates, one of the longest in this segment. It also includes Samsung Knox, Knox Vault, and Samsung Wallet. The Galaxy A27 5G includes several Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search, Google Gemini, Perplexity integration, Bixby, real-time voice transcription, and Live Transcription for calls and voicemail in English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
The Galaxy A27 5G enters a competitive segment that includes devices from OnePlus, Motorola, and. Its biggest strengths are Samsung’s long software support, AMOLED display, and AI features, making it a strong option for buyers planning to keep their phone for several years rather than upgrading frequently.
