Samsung has increased the prices of its Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 smartphones in India once again. The latest revision raises the prices of the A36 by up to Rs 3,000 and the A56 by Rs 2,000, making both phones more expensive a year after their original launch.
The two phones have already received price revisions earlier in February 2026, with rising component and memory costs contributing to higher smartphone prices across the market. Here’s a look at the new prices and what the hike means for buyers.

Galaxy A36, A56 revised prices
The Galaxy A36 8GB + 128GB now costs Rs 36,999, up from Rs 33,999 on the official website. The 8GB + 256GB version has increased from Rs 37,999 to Rs 40,999, while the 12GB + 256GB model now costs Rs 46,499 instead of Rs 43,499.
The Galaxy A56 has also become Rs 2,000 more expensive across its listed variants on the official site. The 8GB + 128GB model now costs Rs 44,999, compared with Rs 42,999 earlier. The 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB versions now cost Rs 48,999 and Rs 54,499, respectively.
This price hike is something to pay attention to, as these phones are not new launches. The Galaxy A36 and A56 launched back in 2025, and their age made them more relevant as the smartphone market dealt with rising memory costs. In that particular situation, an older phone offering long software support and robust hardware was a good deal given the increasingly expensive new models.
The latest hikes now change that a lot as buyers now have to spend up to Rs 3,000 more for the same hardware, while newer phones continue to enter the market. The higher prices also push some of the A56 variants closer to phones from a more premium segment.
Samsung has not given an official reason for this latest price hike. However, smartphone brands across India have been raising prices as memory and storage become more expensive.
The new prices may also take some time to appear across all retailers. Some online stores could continue selling existing stock at the older prices. Buyers should therefore check the final price across Samsung’s store and other retailers before making a purchase.
Should you buy the Galaxy A36 or A56?
Samsung’s newer Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 have also received repeated price hikes since launch. The Galaxy A37 now starts at Rs 46,999, while the Galaxy A57 starts at Rs 62,999 after the latest September price revisions. The new A36 and A56 prices are still below their successors, but the gap is smaller for some higher-storage variants.
This new price hike also makes the older A36 and A56 less attractive than they used to be. These phones had started to offer better value as rising memory costs pushed up the prices of newer models. With another hike now in place, buyers have less reason to pay more for older hardware when newer models are available by spending a little extra.
Prices can also differ between retailers, as some online stores may still sell older stock at the previous prices, even after Samsung updates its official prices.
