Shortly after launching the Galaxy Tab A11+, Samsung has launched its affordable version, the Galaxy Tab A11, in India. With the latest launch, Samsung is expanding its budget tablet lineup in the country, catering to the pocket-friendly price segment under Rs 20,000. The new Galaxy Tab A11 is positioned as an entry-level option for students, casual users and families.

The Galaxy Tab A11 features an 8.7-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The compact screen makes it handy to carry around and use it not just for entertainment, but for reading or studying as well. The tablet includes Dolby-powered dual speakers, which Samsung says will improve audio quality during movies, music streaming and video calls. You also get a 3.5mm audio jack so you can plug in your headphones to the tablet.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor, which should be good enough for regular performance. The tablet packs a 5,100mAh battery, which seems small compared to tablets priced in the same segment. On the Galaxy Tab A11, the front camera is a 5MP unit for video calls and selfies. Samsung hasn’t revealed the software details of the tablet yet.

Samsung is offering the tablet in Grey and Silver colours, with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card, which may appeal to users who download videos or store large files offline.

The Galaxy Tab A11 will be available on Samsung.com, Amazon, Flipkart and select retail stores. Pricing starts at Rs 12,999 for the Wi-Fi model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The LTE version is priced at Rs 15,999. The 8GB+128GB variant with Wi-Fi is priced at Rs 17,999, while the LTE model has been launched at Rs 20,999. A bank cashback of Rs 1,000 is available across all configurations.

The Galaxy Tab A11 can be considered by students, first-time users and anyone looking for an affordable streaming device. The tablet is best suited for basic entertainment, schoolwork, reading and everyday tasks. Users who need a tablet mainly for OTT apps, browsing and video calls will find it sufficient. Those who want better multitasking or a larger display may need to consider the Galaxy Tab A11+ or other alternatives like the OnePlus Pad Lite, which offers a bigger display and battery.
